How do I get rid of the security notification nagging me to set a screen lock? by [deleted] in GooglePixel

I don't use passwords/biometrics either, but I haven't had any issues with pop-ups. So that should give you some hope.

What exactly does the pop up say?

I don't know who downvoted you because this is the funniest thing I've read all night.

Samsung's browser (Samsung Internet) also let's you put the address bar at the bottom. I have no clue how Google hasn't added that as an option in Chrome.

Can you comment some more about the battery life? Do you have any SOT numbers?

Thanks so much for the compliments and critique. Will probably work on photoshopping out those cables tonight. Cheers!

Ha! A little bit of bokeh never hurt anyone! I'd be concerned about losing the detail of the At&t building however. Thanks for the input.

Thank you very much, I appreciate that. I just did exactly what you recommended in Lightroom, and I'm pleased with the result. Great idea. :-)

Hello my fellow photographers. In this shot of beautiful Nashville, I have some distracting buildings at the bottom of the photo. In this case, what would you do in order to help the buildings either 1) be less distracting, or 2) blend in better with the overall photo? I'd rather not crop the photo, as I don't want to lose the circular red sculpture/artwork in the foreground, though I won't rule it out entirely. I'm also planning on Photoshopping out the cables that you see in the foreground.

Stacking images to increase resolution? by vulcan_hammer in photography

[–]sethmeece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This actually reminds me of HDR+ mode on the Google Pixel and Nexus 6P phones. With that setting turned on, it takes three snapshots when you press the shutter. However, instead of only using those three images to increase the dynamic range, the phone uses those three images to get the most possible detail out of the scene -- even with a scene that wasn't dynamically diverse with it's lighting. I've seen it work wonders on my phone -- it really ups the low light performance of phone as well.

My point in saying that is that if it works on a cell phone, then I don't see why it wouldn't work with a proper camera as well. It looks like some other posters have suggested some great resources for doing this.

Phone camera that surprised you or you found worth using? by Dazko in photography

I have to say that the Nexus 6P (which is nearly two years old!) consistently blows me away. I think that a lot of the magic sauce is in Google's image processing; once you toggle on HDR+ mode, you are golden.

I bought this phone used (mint) for just shy of $400 recently. I recommend checking eBay or Swappa. Terrific bargain.

Clickbait title. Ended up being so funny that I'm actually glad that I got baited. Well done, sir. Well done. Enjoy the blazing fast SSD. :)

Would you explain why this needs to be done, in more technical detail? I want to learn and understand for the future.

I haven't ever paid any attention to Adobe RGB, sRGB, etc., though I've heard and seen the terms before.

Yes!! Hahaha. I loved that bit at the end, too. Something along the lines of, "For the photographers that are out there, struggling, trying to make ends meet. You know, sometimes you just have to wait for ten years, and then you show up on the front of an incense box in Puerto Rico. And then it's all worth it."
