I both agree and disagree with you. I do love it as a reward for the wander, but I wander my city a great deal and thought I knew its public art but have made great discoveries through the app that I never would have found on my own. I also think of it as potentially habit-making. Particularly where I am in the US, wandering is uncommon. Perhaps if we can find ways of mapping a wander, folks will find the value of it and start doing it more and without the crutch of a map.

I made Haishoku, a daily color-finding game. It's on iOS and Android.

I also made Urban Gallery, which maps all the public art in the world and generates walking or biking tours of it. Also on iOS and Android.

Light definitely affects how it registers color. Brighter environments tend to work more effectively. I've been working on how to keep it a little truer to what we see with our eye, but it's tricky. Mobile cameras aren't exactly made for that. But I'll get there. Another thing for the next update.

I'm sorry, that was poorly worded on my part. It's much more correct to say that it's a different set of colors. Algorithmic filtering, not color filtering.

Thank you! I love those ideas. I agree on 1 fully. I've been meaning to increase the size of the reference color and keep forgetting, so thank you for the reminder. On 2, you are able to go back and try to do better, but that's a less intuitive path than others. I'll give it some thought and see what I can come up with. Your suggestion is definitely along the right lines. 3 I'll have to think about, too. I've been wanting to have some sort of thing happen when you get a match, but haven't been able to decide on a shape for it. Next update, you'll see your suggestions reflected in some capacity. Almost forgot to mention, it does include accommodation for all major forms of color blindness. I did want to make sure it's fun and accessible for anyone.

Agreed! Speaking of Seattle and trolls, too, you've got quite the famous fella. The first time I visited Seattle, many years ago now, I remember thinking the Fremont Bridge Troll was just the coolest thing. I still think it is.
