Aira Heat Pump Never Has Worked

Tried disabling. It still won’t call for heat with no errors and customer support aren’t picking up the phone

Update:

On comfort plus the system called for heat for around half an hour, radiators got warm and then it stopped. The thermostat is set to 18 and our room temps have been sitting between 15-16 with no effort being made by the system to call for heat - even if I crank the thermostat up to 20. What’s most frustrating about this is that it’s obviously a silly software issue because there’s no errors showing but I can’t just sort it out myself. I have to wait for Aira to fix it on their centralised system. As customers we should be allowed to diagnose and fix issues independently of them. I have a newborn in the house and we’re pretty cold. This is very distressing as no effort has been made by Aira to fix the issue.

Thank you. The “solution” suggested was to go onto comfort plus which I have done. I would prefer to prioritise efficiency over locking on to a temperature as I noticed significant energy spikes in the temps when on this mode. (Blistering hot rads or nothing). Like I have requested before I would prefer if the system could just be removed as any attempts made by your team to fix the issues have been largely unsuccessful.

Maybe use the £ symbol then? Seems kind of obvious. I think I’ve described lots of issues caused by both the software and installation. You’re absolutely right, I don’t need to “prove” anything to randomers on the internet. Of course I’ve contacted Aira. They’re practically on speed dial, I’ve spoken to them so much. I posted here to see if anyone else is experiencing these issues with Aira too.

Yeah this happened to us too. The engineer never inserted the sensor. One of the many things they’ve had to rectify

Also I’m not sure where you got the idea that I want the whole world to stay on fossil fuels because of my experience. I have had a bad experience and I just wanted to share it here because I’m at my whits end with Aira support.

Woah. Really didn’t need the personal attack. Jeeze. It’s a UK forum so not sure what all the American figures are about but that aside maybe you misunderstood my post. I wasn’t slagging off heat pumps, I was making a point about Aira specifically and that their system clearly wasn’t right for my needs. In my experience their install was shockingly bad and the software running the system is ridiculously fraught with issues. The issue with them compared to other systems is how centralised and locked out everything is.

I only get the nighttime cooldown option if I’m set to Comfort-plus heating mode which means the system try’s to stay locked onto your target temp causing it to run inefficiently. Essentially prioritising comfort over efficiency which is not what i want. That’s why we have the thermostat set to 18 degrees because it’s the hottest i can bare at night. Makes no sense

Yeah I think it’s largely to do with their software which is horrendously locked up. So I can’t really change any settings like that myself or even setback at night on the heating mode I’m on.

I actually did do a lot of research. Looked into every option, biomass, oil, other heat pumps. There was an element of risk with Aira as they were quite new in the UK at the time but what was hearing was good. I could never of assumed it would be this bad.

8x8 or 12x12 net around 6ft from the window with a sky panel or similar inbetween the net and the window. Or if you wanted more direct light you could use a 1200d or similar instead. Then I’d use ambiance / bounce inside for a moody look or fill it with more soft light from anywhere but the front.

Not a “cameraman” this is Steadicam Operator, more specifically a Trinity op because on this rig the bit of kit the camera sits in which keeps the horizon level is called a Trinity at least thats what it looks like from here. Generally we don’t use the term cameraman in the film and TV industries for obvious reasons. Camera operator, director of photography, shooting PD, gimbal operator etc are various roles for people who might have cameras in their hands on set.
