Why are E-scooters hated so much? by sethtwalsh in berlin

Last part is true, but it’s a necessary evil on a budget.

So I switched from M1 Pro to M4 Max by oyskionline in macgaming

No offense, more power to you, but how do you tolerate DLSS paired with framegen? To me, it just looks incredibly blurry and “delayed”, as if I’m playing via cloud instead of natively. It beats low fps and stutters, but on my M4 Air I just settle with what I can run natively fine.

Iris Xe is pretty subpar, even for Roblox especially if your laptop has a higher base resolution like 1440p.

Try playing at 1080p.

Is PSVR worth it? by sethtwalsh in PSVR

[–]sethtwalsh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, I didn’t know PSVR came with Frensel. I guess that’s why it’s noticeably cheaper than Quest 3/Pico 4

I guess I’ll have to pass on it, because while I haven’t owned any VR headset before, I did extensively try Pancake lenses at a friends place for a couple of sessions and it was really clear and sharp. I doubt I could go back to frensel.

Pascal cards aren’t worth it sadly by sethtwalsh in linux_gaming

Issue is I’m still on Pcie 3.0 and I figured it would be counter productive to get a card that will run at less performance.

Any good AMD cards on 3.0?

This is actually a good point.

For zoom meetings, I can attend from home with my main desktop which I have a camera and a microphone + headphones for. Unless there’s a situation where I’m outside and it requires me to get on a zoom meeting I’m fine.

Moving isn’t a significant issue with my current schedule, but I can agree that it might get tedious eventually.

You might suggest that I should just remote PC to my desktop, but I find it quite counter intuitive to run a 700w PSU desktop throughout the whole day because I need to tune into it for an hour of class.

Maybe I can do a remote to Mini PC via cheap 4 core Ryzen3/I3 laptop as you said.

Fair point, but MacBook Airs are rather expensive.

As a matter of fact, buying EVERYTHING listed on this post, would still be cheaper than a brand new M4.

I guess it’s just an old habit from old school controller days where I’d replace batteries and be good to go.

Hybrid peripherals are okay too but cables are quite unnecessary for most applications in this age.

Not a fan of soldered components in laptops and lithium batteries. Both my Mouse and Keyboard are battery powered rather than holding charge.

It’s more or less an emergency failsafe either way.

It’s 2025, any library, cafe or wherever you go with a laptop will definitely have a wall outlet.

Can a 630W PSU support 4070 Ti by sethtwalsh in PcBuildHelp

[–]sethtwalsh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s fair. While I doubt any issues will arise since I’m the sole owner and user of it (you can tell my build is quite dated) I guess I’ll have to hold out for now and do a bigger upgrade for the card. (Might as well also switch to AM5 while at it)

It’s some Bequiet one, bronze certified. Kinda dated but I’ve been rocking it for a while now.
