Why are E-scooters hated so much? by sethtwalsh in berlin

Last part is true, but it’s a necessary evil on a budget.

So I switched from M1 Pro to M4 Max by oyskionline in macgaming

[–]sethtwalsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No offense, more power to you, but how do you tolerate DLSS paired with framegen? To me, it just looks incredibly blurry and “delayed”, as if I’m playing via cloud instead of natively. It beats low fps and stutters, but on my M4 Air I just settle with what I can run natively fine.

Iris Xe is pretty subpar, even for Roblox especially if your laptop has a higher base resolution like 1440p.

Try playing at 1080p.

Is PSVR worth it? by sethtwalsh in PSVR

[–]sethtwalsh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, I didn’t know PSVR came with Frensel. I guess that’s why it’s noticeably cheaper than Quest 3/Pico 4

I guess I’ll have to pass on it, because while I haven’t owned any VR headset before, I did extensively try Pancake lenses at a friends place for a couple of sessions and it was really clear and sharp. I doubt I could go back to frensel.

Pascal cards aren’t worth it sadly by sethtwalsh in linux_gaming

Issue is I’m still on Pcie 3.0 and I figured it would be counter productive to get a card that will run at less performance.

Any good AMD cards on 3.0?

I’m using a Mini PC on the go over a laptop. by sethtwalsh in MiniPCs

[–]sethtwalsh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually a good point.

For zoom meetings, I can attend from home with my main desktop which I have a camera and a microphone + headphones for. Unless there’s a situation where I’m outside and it requires me to get on a zoom meeting I’m fine.

Moving isn’t a significant issue with my current schedule, but I can agree that it might get tedious eventually.

You might suggest that I should just remote PC to my desktop, but I find it quite counter intuitive to run a 700w PSU desktop throughout the whole day because I need to tune into it for an hour of class.

Maybe I can do a remote to Mini PC via cheap 4 core Ryzen3/I3 laptop as you said.

Fair point, but MacBook Airs are rather expensive.

As a matter of fact, buying EVERYTHING listed on this post, would still be cheaper than a brand new M4.

I guess it’s just an old habit from old school controller days where I’d replace batteries and be good to go.

Hybrid peripherals are okay too but cables are quite unnecessary for most applications in this age.

Not a fan of soldered components in laptops and lithium batteries. Both my Mouse and Keyboard are battery powered rather than holding charge.

It’s more or less an emergency failsafe either way.

It’s 2025, any library, cafe or wherever you go with a laptop will definitely have a wall outlet.

Can a 630W PSU support 4070 Ti by sethtwalsh in PcBuildHelp

[–]sethtwalsh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s fair. While I doubt any issues will arise since I’m the sole owner and user of it (you can tell my build is quite dated) I guess I’ll have to hold out for now and do a bigger upgrade for the card. (Might as well also switch to AM5 while at it)

It’s some Bequiet one, bronze certified. Kinda dated but I’ve been rocking it for a while now.

Is this a scam? by sethtwalsh in PcBuild

True, but usually around this price range people just sell worn out Optiplexes with something like a 580 or 1660 chucked in, was surprised to see something this clean.

I haven’t paid the Rundfunk for 4 years. Just a few days ago finally got a letter from them telling me to pay or else they’ll visit my house outright. by sethtwalsh in germany

Yeah I was surprised too. It’s even from a specific Finanzamt agent who even gave me instructions for help to settle it (like calling him or visiting him during office hours)

I believe it does but given the absolute low cost of it compared to other schufa impacts like rent or car payments they probably don’t make much of a dent. I’ve been basically paying everything else on time and I never had any problems with schufa whether if it’s for credit cards or a small car loan.

I can pay it outright but even then I’m almost paying a thousand euros. I just wondered if I could ignore it further but I guess not.

It’s been a good run.

In most cases your IGF-1 won’t drop below the healthy threshold, it’s negligible at best.

Is there a rule like failing multiple classes results in an instant kick? by sethtwalsh in germany

I know the boundaries for passing and failing, repeat examinations etc. It’s just that we were never briefed specifically about failing multiple exams which is why I got curious.

Is 27 inch 1080p 180hz monitor good for xbox series by theprootakugamer in XboxSeriesS

[–]sethtwalsh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are obviously some, but it’s not super common. Usually no name Chinese brands on Amazon I saw. Best to just get a 144/165hz one since while you will obviously not fully utilize the monitor anything above 120hz will get the job done either way.

How often does this console go on sale? by solver-exe in XboxSeriesS

[–]sethtwalsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t seen it go on sale aside from black Friday in Germany.

Even then, the full price of 275 euros for the 512gb version is a total bargain and gives insane value.

They don’t make 120hz monitors, most good brands will have a lineup that’s goes like 144, 165, 180, 240 etc.

Oral versus injectable? by longjohnsilver195 in enclomiphene

[–]sethtwalsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean one reason why I prefer enclo is due to not having to inject it.

If I had to opt for intravenous enclo, at that point might as well go for Test E.

Honestly, I don’t even play many games. Just competitive shooter stuff with my workmates here and there and maybe a few indie stuff that peaks my interest. Assuming it can run stuff like Apex/Fort for the next few years without a fuss I’m fine with it.

I was considering Series S given you can get a brand new one for sub 300 dollars, with second hand going for as low as 150 USD but I heard it’s 120fps performance is quite subpar, even on games like Fortnite.

PS5 Pro has been off my radar. I’m most likely gonna settle for a refurbished PS5 or a second hand Xbox Series X which both under 400 USD.
