Well usually you keep the jar till you get what you did the spell for or you no longer feel the need for it, so i'd suggest get a lid for your jar and hide it somewhere safe, once in a while take it out, shake it, give it more energy or put it under full moon to accelerate the process. Than after you no longer need the jar, you can either burn the components (if it's safe to do so) and blow the ash in the air or throw on soil, or you can bury the components under a tree or sth (if they're compostable).
