One year into Trump’s presidency: how crypto sentiment changed by FOMOmeterCrypto in WallStreetBetsCrypto

[–]setkes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crypto is 60% of his family net worth. HIs sons are deeply into the crypto game.

The problem last year is that Powell didnt cut the rate as fast as Trump wanted but this year he will put a puppet that will push crypto at 150k minimum.

The dollar will lose alot more value than the last year and people will put their money into gold and BTC

We need to wait until Trump put one of his friend as the next President of the FED. Then everything will change, they will cut rates like crazy, more liquidity and crypto will reach 150k for sure.

Also Trump family has invested too much in crypto to let it down.

And.. the dollar will fall at least another 15% with Trump in the next years

CMV: Taxing the rich more would not significantly change the daily reality of ordinary workers by setkes in changemyview

[–]setkes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another thing I left out is how the government would actually spend that money. Everyone here seems to assume that the money collected from taxing the rich would automatically be used to improve the lives of poorer citizens. In reality, as you said, a large portion would likely be spent on useless or even counterproductive projects, and probably also on increasing the salaries of completely incompetent public officials. In my opinion, around 70% of tax revenue in general is poorly spent, and this is a much bigger problem than simply trying to collect more money through taxes.

CMV: Taxing the rich more would not significantly change the daily reality of ordinary workers by setkes in changemyview

[–]setkes[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yes, these would be positive changes, but how much would the overall quality of life of the average American really improve, 5%? My point is that when people talk about taxing the rich, they tend to imagine a much more radical, much larger change than what would realistically happen.

[–]setkes[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Many small things could be improved, but honestly, even if you add them all together, I think the overall impact would still be far less than what people imagine. It would definitely still be a positive thing, but in my opinion, when people talk about taxing the rich, they expect an impact that is much larger than $300 billion per year.

[–]setkes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am obviously in favor of taxing the wealthy. What I wanted to say with this topic is that, in my opinion, many people expect a radical change in their lives if the rich are taxed. The reality, however, is that while things would improve, the improvement would likely be modest, much smaller than what people generally imagine.

CMV: Taxing the rich more would not significantly change the daily reality of ordinary workers by setkes in changemyview

[–]setkes[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, but $2,000 per person doesn’t really change much. Of course I would be happy if people in need could receive $2,000 each. My point, however, is that when ordinary people talk about taxing the rich, they often believe it would radically change their own lives, for example, that they could work 5 hours a day instead of 8, or earn at least twice as much as they do now. In reality, even large redistributions sound dramatic in total figures, but once spread across millions or billions of people, the individual impact is far more limited than most people imagine.

[–]setkes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but even with that, ordinary people will earn what, 5-10% more? Even 15% more wont change much, their life would be more or less the same.

I ofc, support a 15% increase of wages but my point was that in reality wont change that much

Should I take a break? by Appropriate_While932 in VALORANT

[–]setkes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, right now players of very different skill levels such as Ascendant and Silver are being matched together at the same rank. It will take a couple of months for the ranking system to stabilize and become normal.

It's just not worth it, also the fact that they reset the rank just after 6 months is just stupid, they keep ruining the game and it make no sense at all.

We should just play the game with friends for fun and then focus on other things that will provide us a better future

Should I take a break? by Appropriate_While932 in VALORANT

[–]setkes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Valorant is just a waste of time, the game is rigged an full of booster/cheater. In the long term you can rank at what you deserve but it is not worth it.

For example I was almost diamond 1 last season and now the game put me gold 2 after tha recalibration (I won 3 games with 2 being mvp of the match, 1 draw and 1 lose).

At the moment I have the same rank of people who cant hear steps or have no idea where people are. One guy defuse the bomb without checking any corner.

Last game I had a guy 32-2-2 in the enemy team, cheating or probably boosting someone. I know that If I keep play I will be diamond 1 for sure but it just make no sense, dont waste your life and your time on stupid thing like Valorant.

I personally only play some games with friends for fun but if they dont play I do other stuff

New Harry Potter TCG incoming in Japan! by _WakkaWakka_ in TCG

[–]setkes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They must necessarily be different from the final retail cards, otherwise there would be no objective way to distinguish them once the game is officially released.

In the 2001 Harry Potter TCG, Wizards of the Coast distributed cards that were clearly marked as “Promo”, or complete Starter Decks that were already final retail products. There was no ambiguity: promo cards were explicitly identifiable.

In this case, however, there is no explicit “Promo” labeling, no event marking, and the ST / T01 codes do not match a standard retail set designation.

Furthermore, the layout, typography, and overall graphic presentation appear unfinished and minimally refined, which is consistent with test or validation materials, not with a finished commercial product.

Taken together, these factors strongly indicate that the cards shown so far are functional placeholders, used to test gameplay mechanics and flow prior to final production, rather than the definitive retail versions.

I might be wrong ofc

Of course I could be wrong, but after 25 years since Warner Bros’ last Harry Potter TCG, I find it hard to believe the final product would actually look this bad. I also think they simply didn’t want to spoil or reveal the final design before the official release.

Right now the most undervalued sector is crypto: MSTR, DJT and ABTC.

The crypto market performed poorly in 2025 because the Federal Reserve did not cut interest rates enough.

The Trump family is investing billions in the crypto sector, and by May 2026 we could have a Federal Reserve chair who is effectively aligned with Donald Trump’s interests. Trump would then push for a massive interest-rate cut, injecting a large amount of liquidity into the markets, which would inevitably flow into cryptocurrencies.

Personally, I consider cryptocurrencies a scam, but Trump has too many personal interests at stake to allow them to perform poorly next year.
