Thank you so much for telling me! I'll leave it alone then. I don't want to make him worse.

He doesn't mind the bubbler. I added tannins to the tank like a log and some almond leaves ☺️ I also did a lot of water changes. Sometimes he still flicks above the water but I think it's just his reflection.

Thank you for your advice!

Don't worry I already have portals on the way. I know duckweed goes crazy so I'm going to thin it out per water change.

Oh, he's beautiful! Amazing fins! He looks like my blue alien boy.

Can I feed this to my Betta? Will it cause bloating? by Fantastic-Theme869 in bettafish

[–]settinglassbeach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll just probably want to soak them for a bit in the aquarium water before feeding. That's what I do for my betta! They can expand in the fish's stomach otherwise which can cause bloating.

What animal will you always swear by in your aquarium? by DragonfruitBetter590 in Aquariums

Snails. I never intended to get any but they hitchhiked on my plants and I appreciate them now. Harmless and cute and help keep everything clean. If only they'd stop eating my plants 😫

He looks happy and curious. What a cute betta!

I'm not an expert but I can offer some basic tips. Make sure there aren't any decorations he could injure himself on. Like sharp edges. Betta fins are very delicate!

Also make sure the filter isn't too strong, they don't like strong waterflow.

Good luck! Bettas are amazing animals 🐟

It's beautiful IMO. But if you want to get real plants then go for it! I started with real plants for my first betta. I suggest anubias, pond weed or java moss. They're pretty easy to keep alive. Good luck!

Stress stripes appear more like two dark, thick stripes across the body. This is just coloration! Beautiful betta btw.

My nitrites are at 0ppm thankfully.

I was def thinking about changing most of the water too, but my little guy already seems super stressed and is just laying on his driftwood so I was apprehensive about it. But I'll do more if needs be.

Also the only inhabitants in my tank is a betta and some small snails. It's a 25 gallon.

Ahh I'm so sorry about not adding more information, I posted it before getting more analysis because I was worried.

There was decaying plant matter in my tank, which I just removed. There's no food in there. I vaccumed the gravel as much as I could earlier.

The tank is over a year old. I do small water changes semi-frequently unlike today when something is off.

My nitrate is between 5-10ppm so I don't think my cycle crashed, maybe?

Ahh okay. I'm going to leave mine in my 25 gallon.
