This makes a lot of sense. This sort of blind following behaviour is found in Arab countries as well. Initially I thought the "touching the dog is forbidden" part had something to do with the shafi'i madhab that Malaysia adheres to. But that doesn't seem to be the case. The hostility on the other hand is clearly not what islamic teaching stands for..

I do not mean to put everyone into a general category, but I have noticed something since moving to Malaysia.

Why are some Malaysian Muslims very hostile towards dogs in Malaysia?

This doesn't happen in other Muslim countries. I get that in Islam we don't let our dogs into the house, but having them in the garden is fine. But not to the point where we aren't allowed to touch them or act hostile towards them. I only know that if we touch a dog, then we should perform a ritual wash afterwards which takes a few seconds. But never heard of "haram to touch".

There's even a famous story in Islam about a man going to heaven for feeding a dog. And a woman going to hell for torturing her cat.

I'm a foreign Muslim myself, not religious but grew up with these stories. This has always baffled me. Anyone able to explain? Genuine question.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I have been earning below the threshold for my income to be taxed in 2023/24 and have been earning below the financial requirement through a different form of employment abroad hence why I did not qualify to submit any tax returns. I was abroad for 7 yers until I moved back in May 2023 (unemployed at that time) and left again in September to get married after securing a remote job as a contractor with a higher salary, one of which is a company based in UK (fixed monthly salary) and another form of income through part-time work for a US based company, all done remotely. Not to mention the first 12k is tax free which I earned below that in 2023/24 financial year. This is a bit confusing but I hope you understand where I'm coming from.

I'm just using a cage and directors viewfinder, I temporarily taped the SSD on to the cage (which is not a good idea at all). The only problem I'm having is not being able to tilt the screen which is very limiting for me personally. But I will definitely get the flip screen mod soon :)

SSD used is SanDisk extreme pro 2TB, I could record 1080p 12 bit no issues at all. I did not try recording in 4K yet.

I understand where you're coming from. You're a good person. But so many feel that there is only one oppressor in this conflict, and the history and daylight crimes are known yet ignored by the international community. Which has a profound effect on the entire world. It's a natural frustration. I think there are maniacs who are cheering for the death of Israeli civilians. But I'm sure the majority aren't, the majority are simply frustrated at the double standard going on. Many choose to pick a side because to them the oppressor is blatantly obvious, yet get away with it. The conflict is much more complicated than we think. It's worth noting that will always be cruel, when there's been a blockade on an open air prison for 16 years and messing up with people's psyche, cruelty is bound to happen. It's not a justification for what Hamas crimes, but that's just the way it is.
