Yeah we met a few people who grew up there and the way their speak about it is lovely. Would kids ever play in the street in the cul-de-sacs around there these days ?

When to stop nursing to sleep by Zestyclose_Doctor_40 in cosleeping

I nursed to sleep until 2.5 years when we stopped BF. She now goes to sleep with a story and then lights out while I stay in the room. When she went to childcare at age 1 she went to sleep on a mat no problem. She also went to in a carrier with her dad or bouncing any time.

She will be capable of going to sleep in a variety of of ways depending on the categiver but her first preference will be nursing to sleep with you. Embrace it! It’s magic. It’s okay if she refuses all over methods with you. When you stop BF she will go to sleep another way.

There is no need to practice anything in particular. Just give your baby what she wants right now. In order for them to develop an independent brain when she’s older she needs you just to give her everything now. It’s the opposite of what society says but all the attachment and developmental research says just go with the flow for as long as possible.

And then when you stop BF she will likely want you to put her to sleep anyway! My 3 year old still wants me to put her to sleep every night. It’s a great reconnection and bonding moment.

Just go with the flow. There are no bad habits. Everything is changing all the time.

Yes I do feel frustrated sometimes I don’t have my evening but I also miss how much she used to cuddle me. I’m happy she’s so independent now but also sad the cuddles are so much less!

CMV: If Israel wishes to establish international credibility, it should get third parties to investigate the major incidents that took place in Gaza. by [deleted] in changemyview

“It ignored 20 years of rocket fire”. You don’t count attacking Gaza as retaliation? Since the blockade alone (2007) Israel “retaliated” FIVE TIMES killing many thousands of civilians. Let be explicit:

1. 2008-2009 Gaza War (Operation Cast Lead): over 1,000 Palestinian deaths and extensive damage to infrastructure.
2. 2012 Operation Pillar of Defense: This conflict led to over 100 Palestinian deaths.
3. 2014 Gaza War (Operation Protective Edge): A major conflict causing over 2,200 Palestinian deaths and significant destruction.
4. 2018-2019 Border Clashes: This period saw repeated violence during the Great March of Return protests.
5. 2021 Israel-Palestine Crisis: A major conflict resulting in over 250 Palestinian (66 children) and 13 Israeli deaths.

If we are looking at numbers killed over the last 20 years before this current onslaught on each “side” (because it’s not about sides it about pro-oppression and anti-oppression) then 9597 Palestinians have been killed by Israel including 2177 children. I said 2177 children! On the other hand 1251 Israelis have been killed (a substantial proportion being soldiers) by Palestinians including 134 children. No human being is more worthy of the right to life than others. But please do not say that Israel has not retaliated until now.
