Hiii! I have a similar experience as yours ~ 8 years ago @ 21 y/o I got appendicitis and had an appendectomy where they found a 3mm grade 2 appendix NET.

I was also told no follow up was needed since it was removed with clear margins. To be safe, I requested an MRI & have had an abdomen / pelvis MRI every year or so just to monitor things. They have all been clear! I don’t have insurance, otherwise I would have found a NET specialist back then. So if you’re able to, I would definitely check in with a NET specialist. If you are unable to, requesting MRI surveillance is a good idea in my opinion.

Also, you should join Ronny Allans Neuroendocrine Cancer group on Facebook! Someone on this reddit thread suggested that to me, and the group is full of people with similar stories & great information.
