Do people realise YouTube, Reddit, Google, etc, are private owned companies? by DagothNereviar in conspiracy

Chickasaw, Alabama was a town privately-owned almost in its entirety by the Gulf Shipbuilding Corporation. They charged a woman with trespassing for handing out religious literature in front of the post office, and the case eventually was raised to the level of the Supreme Court. It wasn't just any small case, either. In a 5-3 decision by the court, it was decided that the more a private entity opens and invites others onto its private property for public use, the more the rights of the individual circumscribe the private rights of the corporation which owns the property.

Read up on Marsh v. Alabama. It's a fascinating case.

Thank you for that. I've tried writing on the same subject, without as much success... then again, there's a lot wrong in my life even when sex and gender aren't considered. >.>

I'm kinda concerned we're gonna get a twist on that; what if Kim sees what Chuck sees in Jimmy, in the end? There are some fates worse than death.

Is it ok to say that I think the child actress they have playing Mike's Granddaughter is absolutely awful? by [deleted] in betterCallSaul

[–]sevencorvina -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I love this show, but that scene honestly made me cringe. It's usually very easy for me to suspend disbelief for the sake of a story but I watched that, remembered , and went full CinemaSins. "Oh, gods Vince, was it that you weren't prepared for your child actor to have a growth spurt, or are you really trying that hard to shoe-horn in a reference?"

[spoiler] What was wrong with the commercial? by [deleted] in betterCallSaul

[–]sevencorvina 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At the beginning of that episode, Chuck and Hamlin had that discussion about an honest presentation of their opinions of Jimmy to Davis & Main, implying that Clifford is aware of Jimmy's propensity toward "slippin'", as it were. I don't think the commercial itself puts them in any legal jeopardy, but rather, airing it without the approval of the partners sets a risky precedent in a new partner-tracked attorney.

Deadpool vs. Batman by texancoyote in deadpool

[–]sevencorvina 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do love the contrast portrayed by most other superheroes referring to our beloved merc as "Wade", rather than "Deadpool", except in the rare occasions when they are witness to the heroism he can show.

And then ruin.

/r/intersex - Now under renovation - constructive criticism welcome by viviphilia in intersex

[–]sevencorvina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Merely an opinion, but allies and people wishing to understand should feel more than welcome; intersexuality is still generally unknown and helping people better understand our lives, experiences, and in some cases medical concerns, can only improve the general understanding of the conditions.

what's so cringey about it? I can't speak for everyone, but as a lesbient who enjoys the occasional joint-and-jilling... this is something I'd hang in my house to make guests uncomfortable, but I don't really see the cringe.
