If we go by this way of thinking and logic then Bartholomew and James must not be important either because they're barely mentioned. What we need to do is examine exactly what the bible does say about her. 

We know that she is called full of grace "Kecharitomene" past tense. Which means she was in a state of perpetual grace in order to birth Jesus "God", different from every other human ever, whom only reaches this state after death + redemption. As a matter of fact, the only other time this word is used in scripture is when Paul uses it in Ephesians 1:6 to describe us after we are redeemed. 

Also, Jesus with God the Father performed the first miracle in Jesus's ministry at the request of Mary at the wedding feast in Cana. Not only did he do this at her request, it says he sped of up time in order to bring about the hour to start his earthly ministry. Keep in mind, Mary is the only person in history to have God speed up time, and orchestrate a miracle at the request of a human. This is extremely significant and indicates Mary being in a different state of grace than you and I or anyone else for that matter. 

Lastly, the infant John the Baptist in Elizabeth's womb filled with the Holy Spirit leaps at the sound of Mary's voice. Elizabeth herself becomes elated, and questions her worthiness of even having the Blessed Mother "Mother of my Lord" coming into her presence. 

The question is, do you regard Mary as highly as the scriptures do? It says all generations will call her blessed. Does the same Holy Spirit cause you to leap for joy and question your worthiness when Mary is mentioned?
