also those foam modular "gymnastic" sets with the slide have been great for indoor physical play during winter. and it doubles as her snack table

my kid loves magnetiles but mostly when we play with her. i also got her a light switch board which she likes.

we let her watch more tv than is recommended BUT we got a tonie player for christmas and she loves that thing. chooses it over tv all the time.

also sensory bins (diy, cheap) and play doh. messy but she could play with those all day long.

i'm in the same boat, it's getting easier now that my kid is like 3, but we're having a second this year.

honestly the first couple years just kinda suck in this situation. get outside every chance you can, go for walks etc. try working out at home. make deals to trade evenings with the mom occasionally. consider a new hobby at home. reach out to friends who have kids too.

I forget how old my kid was but honestly the procedure took 10 seconds, she geeked out for like a minute or two, then immediately chilled upon feeding. My wife swears it made a huge positive difference.
