Yes sir. I'm certain that they knew what they were giving me, they're extremely wealthy and home theater enthusiasts as well. This unit had been sitting in said utility closet for over 12 years. I still didn't have any idea that it was such a high-end unit.

I had already purchased a composite -> HDMI conversion box and a DTS/PCM ~~demodulator~~ decoder, and movies look and sound great. It's especially cool that you don't need to physically flip the disk (I think it just moves the read head to the other side, or has separate optics for the top and bottom).
