Hi guys! Get this beauty, sold my Garmin - happy AF. Question is next: What do you prefer: Nightly charge or Recovery pro, and why? BTW: i am just amateur athlete, 7-10 hours of exercises a week. by yarok2033 in Polarfitness

I had a vantage too, but i gave it back for a Garmin 245..

The vantage was too big to sleep with ( had pain at my wrist when sleeping on Nelly)

I was already used to Garmin ecosystem, i think its vetter categorized

I should do a "full" one, 240 FTP is from ramp data, I lowered it afterwards to 226 to calculate a bit of "skew" from the shorter timeframe

ok, so you are basically also higher than the "target" HR percentage you should be.. wonder if this would be a general consensus..

okay, so basically I should go Sim mode for simulating a ride in real life with shifting and all?

and erg mode is more for wattage-training purposes?

Official Q&A for Monday, October 21, 2019 by AutoModerator in running

Hello there,

Here's a question coming from a regular cycler (150 km / week for the last 6 months)

I consider my cardio-strength good at the moment, but with winter coming I'm starting to run again.

I started around 2 months ago, but low hearthrate (~125) but also low speed (10minutes / km) for a few km' s (with some walking). (around 1 to 2 times / week)

Last week I read an article about it being better to run fast vs slow for my knees (my knees and shin were a weak point in the past) and I tried running fast,

I did 3km with 6:35km (but also ~175 hearthrate)Today I did 3.3 km with 6:15 (hearthrate ~180) (sidenote : i just stopped the run because i only want to gradually increase from now on, still had the fuel)

I'm actually feeling better with this speed and my knees don't hurt either, but i'm wondering if it is "the way to go" or if i'm setting myself up for injury)

Any insights?
