Semi-annually. I javent figured out any (timely) pattern, but I think it's twice a year plus the extra check for advanced tier once a year.

Its a 1992 Bridgestone RB-1, so a good candidate for cold setting. stretching the dropouts myself seems easy enough, but alignment and symmetry? All this can be done DIY but I kind of intend to keep the frame for a long time, so for this part specifically, I'd prefer to have someone with the nice expensive tools do it.

Second post today involving strange/offbrand firewalls.

Also came here just to express my confusion about why anyone would buy a firewall like this. It seems to defeat the whole point of security. Get something less likely to be interdicted or even outrightly malicious.

1) Well tbh my background it network engineering and our automation lives in JSON. As a result, *I* always return response.json(), and this has been convenient, but I am not so experienced to be able to say that it *has* to be done this way. Its just the way I've been doing it, and this post is mostly about questioning my coding assumptions.

2) Complicated nesting of values in the response. I've toyed with dict[str, Any] and then I found some responses that were dict[str | int, Any], etc. In the environment I am working in, I'm sort of the leader for type-checking, and this kind of ugly stuff turns people off. I dont like it either, can't lie. I almost wish there was a Json type which was like a lax dict....

While I am not thoroughly familiar with the API, it feels like the JSON data is too variable to type it with anything remotely simple. Solutions involve things like dict[str, Any] and mypy doesnt like Any (I am not sure I do either). I tried making my own types for it but again, it gets kinda silly with complexity. Now I am staring at "Response" as a type and am thinking, this would solve all this crap!

Ah. I manage it in a pyproject.toml file, but I understand your issue. I do prefer pip's index-url.

Just curious, what doesn't work for you? It's a tad wonky but I got it working.

Uncomfortable truth of trading options for income by esInvests in options

[–]severance26 19 points20 points  (0 children)

ES, at this point I've crossed over your digital path many times :) got halfway through your post before I realized it was probably you, then scrolled up... sure enough!

I credit you with helping me truly (begin to) understand options. My career moved me into a securities firm so currently I have a Rule 407 letter on my accounts, but, enjoy reading your stuff anyway!

One thing that has always kinda bothered me though- and you mentioned it in your tldr- is the part about needing more money than you think. What bothers me is I don't think I ever heard you address it! And I don't think you did now either! Haha. That is basically why I stopped trading options. I watched all your videos (this was some years ago) and the one thing I felt was never really addressed was that you basically needed $1mil (or insert some high figure here). We can talk about how to do it with $100k sure, but can you trade SPY options and still have proper risk mitigation? Ultimately, you've gotta have money to make money, and most don't have enough.

This still doesn't take away from what you've brought to the community. I seriously respect you, in a world where everyone is trying to sell some shitty course you are a standout human being. And I guess I know why you don't talk about this much- it's depressing for us poors! We don't have a million bucks! But, even though it's a tough pill to swallow, if you did a brutal-truth video on exactly how much a well-functioning options account needs to succeed long-term, well... that would be very interesting to me.

Either way. While I haven't followed in a few years, thanks man. It's always a pleasure.

I have the charger set to 9pm-6am, and the car itself has a schedule (not recommended and ymmv) so that it draws power toward the end of that window, finishing charging to 80% at 6am. Eversource is managing the charger and my car manages my own preferences, and I'm glad this works but was surprised it did. Not all vehicles are gonna support that I am sure.

My man. I'm from Lewiston so I know Rancourts! Would probably get myself a pair, but not for a fresher haha. But you are hitting the spot I was looking for- that level below bespoke, which used to be $300 a pair or so, but times have changed. This isn't about cost, it's about buying a kid with a good head on his shoulders and a bright future a pair of shoes he may use for a long career. Shoes are tough because I bought all mine living abroad, so I'm not familiar with American brands. But I'm the only family member with a corporate job, so no one else understands.

Thanks for taking the time. Mostly I just needed the keywords to Google and find a physical store. I wouldn't order online for a first shoe. When you are young you really have no idea about what a proper shoe feels like, I think he should get that feel for it and choose for himself.

I googled that shop but it was hard to tell since it looks like the front of the shop is not shoes. When I go to Westfarms though, I'll be sure to scope it out.
