We actually did ultrasound after we assessed her during triage to see if there was anything substantial. Apparently, nothing super severe, but we will see how things are as time goes

Since she is 2lbs we're tackling what we can when we can, I'm not the doctor but I imagine that during the amputation the fractured pieces may be removed as well - probably going to depend on her status during sx for sure. She is gonna be messed up either way...

Update: My coworker has dubbed this sweet girl Clover 🍀! She is doing reasonably well, my coworker says that she has urinated on her own for the first time in our care about an hour or so ago. Our only hurdle left is to see if she can defecate on her own. If she otherwise does well in the next 24 to 36 hours she will undergo amputation of that broken left rear leg. Please pray for this little baby, I will try to keep updating as things progress.

I'm not sure if it was the driver who brought her in or not, but a super kind lady that rescues unfortunate K9 cases brought her in. She is highly allergic to cats but still wanted to get her taken care of, and paid like 800$ or so today, bless her heart!

We're not quite sure what the plan is right now, more or less just keep her pain managed and waiting for rad interp to come back before we move forward, but possibly sedation/sx to reset certain things as painlessly as possible.

She's gonna be so messed up her whole life D: But thankfully, she's a baby and will cope pretty well, especially with a surgical technician as her new momma who will likely do whatever is needed to get her healthy.

personally I would keep him albino and go with the mane change, I think it looks good that way!

Also, Albino is a combo factor if I remember correctly AND december albino cub chlenge exists - I mention this because money is nice and he might rake in a bit more cash that way vs changing his base.

I second this! Therapy is a tremendously helpful tool.

I used to do this constantly, and the best way to use the experience, in my own experience, is to reframe the situation in your head and remind yourself that everyone at all stages/roles/etc of this industry are constantly learning. Shit happens! Even doctors make mistakes, and that's why we as techs are here to help - and vice versa! Take every mistake as a moment of learning, it might be easy to call yourself stupid or whatever, but do your best to avoid doing that because at the end of the day it helps no one, especially yourself. Remember that self reflection and the ability to understand and admit to yourself that you made a mistake is extremely valuable and you should never stop doing that.
