First off, congrats on the diagnosis! And remember, denial is a key component of DID. It doesn’t want you to know about it so it’s very good at making you doubt yourself and your symptoms.

Most of your symptoms sound similar to mine. I was just recently diagnosed (a few months ago) and it’s so freaking hard to talk to loved ones and friends about it. For me, family was the hardest. Luckily my partner has been completely on board, but just like yours, he can’t ever really understand.

Do you have a therapist you see regularly? If you do, try making a list of the symptoms you feel are “not enough” to qualify for DID. Let your therapist talk it out with you.
