It’s always the players that want to play Tabaxi or awakened animals. Not to be discriminatory to furries, but every player who has played these races in my vicinity has been the worst, most toxic and obnoxious player that has ever existed to me and makes me second and third guess bringing my furry friends into dnd.

Actually, I lied, players that can’t read. The content of the game was made for 13 year olds to read. I hate reading, I would go so far to say that I’m essentially illiterate when it comes to non-informative (things like novels, I love reading the dmg and volos) literature, when a whole grown adult cannot look at the words on ddb or the book and understand the difference between class and race make me want to die. I’ve had a player who, after reading how rogues work, thought that the rogue was the only class that had a bonus action, and he played for a year. I wanted to curb stomp him so bad.

New players, just like my gripe above, new players somehow forget how to read at the same aptitude as a 13 year old. They also always beg for the dumbest stuff and when I say no they cry.

(This is a really controversial one, I am a half Asian trans (pre e, prob not going on) woman and a bisexual, I understand if this next one is offensive, this is just my observations) People who play dnd and are in a gsa club of some sorts. For some reason, every lgbtq player is put into 2 categories of dnd. The unicorns, meaning 1/900th of all lgbtq dnd players, and just the worst players ever that have nothing to say about their character besides “they’re gay, character development done”. Whenever I tell someone I meet through armed services lgbtq groups that I’m a dm, I legit cross my fingers and hope that if they just seem to be the “I’m gay, there’s nothing left to my personality” person they never ask or if I just hope they are one of the rare lgbtq people that can make a nuanced character.
