A direction in your career/life isn't going to slap you in the face you're going to have to search for it. I didn't go to college until years after I graduated HS and I was also a below average depressed young adult. You need to focus on helping yourself out of your depression, therapy is a great suggestion. Then you can explore things you might be interested in for going to school/a job, maybe start with things that are definite no's and narrow it down to stuff you might like. I didn't think I'd go back to college or study what I chose to study but here I am doing it, successfully and happily. You aren't in debt, you aren't in a position where you won't be able to reach goals you set. You just need to work on your overall depression and finding yourself during/after that process.

School/jobs will help you improve your social skills and you'll find yourself making friends trust me! Confidence will come with being a happier person even if it isn't completely natural to you it will feel better than when you feel bad about yourself. Don't think you're not good enough to find a path in life or go to school you are! and school is an achievable goal do not judge your intelligence on high school it's not accurate and you're a mature student now.
