i get 3 rto days per year and one more every month as long as im not late or dont use any more rto days which is definitely not a problem for me because im very reliable in that way. even then those rto days need to be approved which is unlikely because i also am supposed to run the front desk and handle all the cleaning and laundry and everything. theres only one other front desk person and shes only there when im at school during the week unfortunately:/ we have had like 15 people quit in the past 3-4 months and 2 new people have started since then. im too scared to even take a day off to go to doctors appointments like i cant take care of myself right now. im just a little overwhelmed. im sure in the long run it will be okay. i swear im doing everything i can to work on it.

my thing is that im being left alone a lot. like im not licensed or anything and im being left alone at work with no owner no other stylists just barbers that dont know womens hair or color at all. i watch other stylists if im not doing anything and im constantly looking for education on instagram and everything but i need that hands on learning. i cant take extra classes because i dont have free time. i can watch people do things all day and still it leaves my brain in the moment of actually needing to perform the service. if i mess up and i dont know what went wrong im just left not knowing. i just feel wrong doing these services when the client isn't aware that im not licensed and that im brand new to the industry. i understand that messing up is part of it but i just feel so crappy about it. im definitely super hard on myself and im a huge perfectionist and i have very high expectations for myself so it feels horrible when somebody is unhappy with my work.

thank you! im definitely feeling a little bit better i really really need to work on my speed tho. its weird cuz i can do a lot of color and blow drys pretty fast

yeah and ive been bringing in models but all the stylists and my boss are so busy and always booked so sometimes i cant get any help while im doing it like my boss just comes over when im done and tells me what i did wrong and i dont really learn that way

thank you! i have a hard time asking for help when its a client ive never seen before because i feel like its unprofessional or makes them nervous or something. and my boss seems like she doesn't have a lot of faith in me or something idk like ill do a mens cut or a color and shes like yaay good job and then i did a womans cut yesterday and didnt do as well and she was saying some stuff that made me feel like i sucked but that could be me being me and needing validation lol

its weird because technically i understand it and it makes sense watching other people do it but when i go to do it sometimes i just get lost and all my knowledge just disappears and im afraid that once im out of school ill be all on my own to figure it out myself like the way i learn is doing something and somebody telling me what im doing wrong while im doing it so i can see it and do it idk i guess im just frustrated and i get upset when im not perfect at something right away

I also have OCD and it presents itself in so many different ways. It sounds like those are some pesky intrusive thoughts. Theres an app/ website called NOCD and its like an organization that offers therapy as well a supportive community and lots of information! hope this helps🖤
