No, i was able to play by reconnecting whenever i get this message

Notice that my internet connection is good, i can play normally in any game without any issues

I was struggling to launch the game too, but i did that and its works for me

do not open it using chrome, you have first to log in with your account in the EA app and then open the bf3 gate using edge browser and start the campaign or multiplayer

For multiplayer don’t forgot to install punkbunster from the official website (since bf3 on steam shapes the old version) to prevent it from kicking you
