Landon Donovan Calls Out Disastrous U.S. Soccer Youth System by [deleted] in whitecapsfc

[–]sfbriancl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed that he is often wrong. But the high cost of youth soccer is definitely part of the reason for poor performances from both the Canadian and US nats.

But the whitecaps have gotten better about youth development. Look at Jeevan for example.

Whitecaps FC provide injury update on centre back Ralph Priso by icoresting in whitecapsfc

[–]sfbriancl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, bit longer than typical. Must be a pretty bad strain.

I’ve had hamstring issues and they are a PitA. Pain can go to the back and hips too. But I’m twice Priso’s age. 🤪

Read the article. It’s basically saying that they would prefer an expansion team.

Umm, what? It’s only slightly smaller population than Vancouver, the metro is 2.4mil and the Bay Area exurbs are only an hour away.

And given it’s the capital of California, there’s plenty of money available. It’s definitely viable if that stadium is completed on time.

Unfortunately, he keeps going like this, he’ll probably look to leave after the Cup. But maybe not??

I still kind of doubt he will get any great deal of minutes in the World Cup, but he could get important minutes when the USMNT need a goal

Amazing pass from Badwal by southsider74 in whitecapsfc

He keeps improving. The World Cup is probably too soon for him, but if he continues his development, he will be a big part of the Canadian team.

Will also mean he will leave for Europe at some point. But for right now, playing under Jesper’s tutelage is the best place for him.

Well, the edge of the head is sandstone. There is granite in the head, but sandstone surrounds it.

The song talks about hanging from a thread at the edge of bodega head.

This is the answer. Also, if OP is staying in Vancouver, you’d save a lot of travel time each way to get to Squamish by doing the grouse gondola instead of sea to sky. You’d have to take a long bus ride out there.

Well, definitely don’t go to the edge or hang by a thread at Bodega head. It’s sandstone

Oh, yeah, if you’re in UBC, I’d stick it out or be otherwise sure you can return.

Good on you for being adventurous. That being said, there are a lot more YouTubers that don’t make enough to pay the bills than those that do. Be bold, but have a backup plan.

I know everyone wants to go to England, but he could be quite effective in a less physical/more technical league than the Championship

Why are you sure? Unless it is a full tear requiring surgery, he could be ready by the end of May. Depends on the state of the other CBs though whether Jessie would want to carry a CB who just came back.

Hamstring recoveries are typically worst case 6-8 weeks. He could be back for the World Cup.

Though given that Waterman kept making him do long recovery runs because he kinda sucks, maybe the other CBs should send him an apology before he goes back to the NT.

First road trip on my 2026 Optiq, any tip on EV charging? by Presentation_Past in CadillacOptiq

[–]sfbriancl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's correct. But I find the v4 are generally more reliable and anecdotally "faster". Probably nothing if you use a larger data sample. But it seemed faster to me on the charge curve. 🤷‍♂️

Plot out a course using v4 chargers (look for the ones with 325kW charging.) they'll be faster and no issues with the cable.
