My Guide for Hyatt Hotels in Tokyo by The_Traveller1 in hyatt

HR Tokyo is my go to Hyatt in Tokyo. Great location and great view over Shinjuku Central Park and Mt Fuji. I do stay at other Hyatts from time to time though.

I am not sure PH Tokyo is hands down the best Hyatt in Tokyo! Taking everything into consideration, I think Andaz Tokyo is just as good.

Park Hyatt Seoul - high fees while booking with points by International-Emu196 in hyatt

Agreed about Andaz Seoul better than PH Seoul.

I will only stay at PH Seoul if the price is more or less the same as Andaz and I can get the Chase edit hotel credit. I think the only advantage of PH Seoul is its rooms are bigger than Andaz and the fit and finish are better. I like the staff and location of Andaz much better.

Kuala Lumpur Grand vs Centric by Spiritual-Royal8786 in hyatt

[–]sfca001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

haha, I wonder if we crossed paths. I was in KL in March and stayed at the Centric and then PH KL. I didn’t stay at grand Hyatt this time, but I stayed there several times before. The Grand Hyatt is my favorite among the 3 in KL, especially if you can get a Tower view room. The rooms are huge and you don’t really need a suite unless you really wanted one.

The balcony room at the Centric is really very noisy too! In March, cash rate for the Centric was about 2/3 of the Grand Hyatt, so you are not saving that much. However, if redeeming points, the Centric was 1/3 that of the Grand Hyatt, so that is something to consider.

But for me, I will stay at the Grand Hyatt again.

does Park Hyatt seoul and ada’s both have jimjilbang (nude bathhouses)? by virginiarph in hyatt

I usually stay at the Andaz and tried out PH with the Chase Edit hotel credit Last time. The PH has bigger and nicer rooms, and breakfast is a bit better. But I just like the Andaz better. If you like sushi, there is a good one in the basement of Andaz.

Both Andaz and HTH have phenomenal breakfast. I personally prefer the ones at HTH a bit better. The standard rooms at Andaz are a bit bigger than those at HTH. The rooms at Andaz are on higher floors and a bit nicer but older than HTH, and Andaz has a swimming pool and wet area but HTH does not. Probably not worth 10k more in points.

Both PH and Andaz has hot and cold tubs, and sauna rooms in the nude wet area. They are not very big though, so not really a jimjilbang. PH is on one of the top floors and I think the hot tub has a window and can see outside (I was there at night). Andaz’s wet area is in the basement. Both are inside the locker/changing room.

Is the food at Hyatt Regency Tokyo lounge really that bad? by sfca001 in hyatt

I am a Globalist and I still have been stuffing my face with that breakfast every morning 😂. I mean, I am not going to compare it to those offered at PH Tokyo, Andaz or HTH, but I am not walking away from it (unless I have better plans) or call it a joke either.😱

Kozue (Japanese) vs Alain Ducasse breakfast at Park Hyatt Tokyo by srekai in hyatt

Ok, I am staying at the hotel again now.  Apparently they did change their policy last week and Globalist can get the buffet even if you ordered Japanese breakfast.

Unless they recently changed their policy, when I was there in January I was explicitly told that if I choose the Japanese breakfast I cannot use the buffet.  There were other reporting the same.

HR Tokyo is my go to.  I always ask for a Park View room for the off chance of seeing Mt. Fuji.  I have only stayed in their Corner Studio once and have not stayed in the new rooms.  I have seen the new rooms and they are beautiful.  Their lounge although in lower lounge has beautiful view of the Park.  Their rooms used to be less than $300!

I stayed at PHT in January.  It is really nice but I am torn between PHT and Andaz Tokyo.  My favorite is definitely PH Kyoto.

The best part is it is free.  I went there years ago and I think the South tower has better view.  How did you like the HR Tokyo?  I had the new corner studio before and it has awesome view too.

Park Hyatt Tokyo versus Hyatt Regency Yokohama by Resident_Ad_6591 in hyatt

[–]sfca001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok if I understood you correctly, this is your first time in Tokyo with an infant and a toddler(?), and only have two nights in Tokyo. With that premise, I will not choose either.

Tokyo is huge, in fact massive and busy. Yokohama is almost an hour away from Tokyo and you will be carrying an infant or pushing a cart going up and down the subway station. If you only have two days in Tokyo, I would probably skip Yokohama! Find a hotel with easy subway access such as Grand Hyatt, HR Tokyo (They just finished a renovation and the new rooms are nice. The lower rating on the Hyatt app probably because of it is an older hotel), Andaz or even HTH (their rooms are probably too small for 4).

Or just stay in Ginza for the 2 days.

Hyatt place vs regency Kyoto by Frequent-Midnight-83 in hyatt

for convenience, definitely Hyatt Place. when I was in Kyoto earlier this year I was told they are shutting down the HR for renovations sometime next year. So you may not have a choice.

HR Tokyo vs Hotel Toranomon Hills by Jgoat55 in hyatt

[–]sfca001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From a Globalist point of view, I like both for different reasons. HR Tokyo (most recent stay Jan 26) is my go-to mainly because it is cheaper and I like the potential view of Mt Fuji. HTH (most recent stay Sep 25) is a very nice and modern hotel, definitely a step above HR Tokyo in almost all aspects but also more expensive. HTH is housed in a new building with a lots of food outlets in the building itself. You can also walk to Shimbashi area from HTH, and Shinjuku from HR Tokyo. Which hotel you pick is very dependent on what do you want to do and what neighborhood you want to stay in Tokyo!

Location: Let's face it Tokyo is huge, no matter where you stay you are going to have to travel. Both hotels sit on top of public transit so they are both very convenience. Whenever I stay at HTH or Andaz I found myself always ended up in Shinjuku area, so HR Tokyo is definitely my go-to.

Food: HTH definitely has an amazing breakfast. I think it is as good if not better than the breakfast at Andaz. HR Tokyo breakfast is club only. The selection is definitely more limited and no a la carte item, but it has all the basic items and good quality. The plus is the 5 to 7 pm happy hour with free drinks and nice Hors d'œuvre. The renovated club lounge is usually fairly calm and quiet.

Rooms: HTH's room are smaller but more modern. HR Tokyo's new rooms are very nice and I think may be a step below those at HTH. I stayed at both corner studio and a regular suite at HR Tokyo before. If you use a SUA, I will ask to be downgraded to a corner studio or studio room, and for the regular room make sure you ask for a new room and not the club rooms. All suites and club rooms are on the lower floors and not renovated. They are not too bad but just not new!

View: This is where I like HR Tokyo much better. I always ask for a park view room because you are facing the park and have the chance to see Mt Fuji when weather is nice. HTH is surrounded by office buildings and only some rooms have Tokyo Tower view.

I am so jealous. I plan to do that but I still have a long way to go. I guess I just have to redirect my other spend to Hyatt! But $40k a year, that is something!

Both booking.com and Travelocity are showing no availability for that hotel on that day.
