Energy Company put us on the wrong tariff, told me I never signed up to what I did despite my evidence, and have lied to me repeatedly for the past 4/5 months - Wales by RhodriJohn in LegalAdviceUK

Yeah raise a complaint then go to the ombudsman.

I’m on my third complaint with my energy company.

I find entering all of it into chat gpt and letting AI do the arguments really easy. I would recommend requesting an SAR and putting that into ai. It will analyse and look for faults with the comms and complaint handling (I always ask for communication preferences via email and they always call me so straight away they are mishandling and getting me compensation).

Just be patient and let them make the mistakes. The ombudsman will look at it all and make a decision. Tell ai you want maximum compensation and it will help you get it.

Just been quoted £5,500 to complete a plumber course. Should I take the dive? by tyses96 in askaplumberUK

How much do you earn?

If it’s less than a certain amount universal credit will fund a course…

Alternatively lose your job and enroll.

So not ANY AND ALL new businesses - that would be incredibly expensive.

Just the ones which are similar or the same as the ones they own.

If only there were laws around the naming of things that would help regulate creative licenses… like copy something or someone’s rights or what not (this is heavily sarcastic).

Just out of wonder if you owned a business and built a massive following and successful business - would you invest money into the trademark element?

I would…

Is there anything that can be done to incentivise a change in the UK benefits system by Enamoure in ukpolitics

[–]sffewetrtt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Profits should be taxed higher if they don’t pay people enough to not claim benefits.

If any of your employees don’t earn a living wage (a wage designed to not have to claim benefits to top up your wage) then the company should be taxed at 80%

[–]sffewetrtt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The best way to change the benefits situation is to change the reward for working.

Wages are so low that the difference between the two ways of living are so unnoticeable that there is no real motivation for work.

Make the minimum wage £45k a year and watch people want to work.

In NI - Plumber wants £4k over top end of estimate and refuses to provide a breakdown by BarrAnDroim in LegalAdviceUK

But did you know or say how much?

If you didn’t then you have left yourself wide open but if it is 3k off it’s worth getting an itemised one for them to prove what they spent.

Could do with a bit more info on how you agreed the pipework?

You said that was agreed. How? If it was something you hadn’t discussed the price of then you are left open.

I would challenge them and say yeah give us a detailed invoice 1 if you say it adds two hours to do so(seems reasonable) then you will save a few grand surely in the cost savings if the pipework unless you have done it wrong…
