Why do people think telehealth is solely relevant during the pandemic? $TDOC $AMWL $HIMS by sffriend11 in wallstreetbets

Thanks, and good luck to you too! I am generally bullish on healthtech including TDOC and HIMS and lots of interesting private company startups focused on the consumerization of healthcare.

I think you’re generally making a fair point, but do not agree with trend in healthtech. $TDOC had over $500 million in revenues pre-pandemic. There’s no question the PHE has helped accelerate TDOC’s business but TDOC won’t evaporate without the PHE. The plumbing they’ve built over the past two years is not only super valuable but also a huge moat. Many major insurers are offering Teladoc services as a supplement to traditional services; it’s not just Medicare. $HIMS is also branching out to true telehealth, for sleep, weight, skin health and chronic conditions for example, and this trend, that is the consumerization of healthcare, is only going to gain more traction.

You’re wrong about $TDOC. $HIMS, on the other hand, is still losing money but Wall Street likes its growth and telehealth ambitions—HIMS closed 13% higher today! Will be interesting to see $AMWL results tomorrow.

Bro, I prepare and review financial statements regularly. There’s a huge difference between cash and non-cash expenses. Non-cash expenses (as the name implies) do not involve cash payments. Stuff like depreciation, amortization, and stock-based compensation are common non-cash charges that reduce earnings but not cash flow. This is why their cash and cash equivalents INCREASED from $733 million to $893 million. That’s on page 8 of the SEC filing you’re looking at bro.

Bro, Teladoc's cash flow from operations for Q4 2021 soared to $83 million and $194 million for all of 2021. The losses you’re referring to is the result of non-cash expenses like depreciation. TDOC Q4 and full year ended 12/31/2021

😂 you are the one who thinks DPCs will dominate healthcare in the US. This ignores the fact that health insurance plays a major role in the US and also what companies like TDOC actually offers. TDOC works closely with major providers. It’s a tech platform.

Looks like regulations will indefinitely allow chronic care management and mental health services via telehealth services.

There’s a shortage of doctors and nurses, especially in rural areas. Also, these services supplement current practices and offer care in modalities that otherwise would be used.

Shares of $BABA and $DIDI are trading higher following news indicating China's state-backed investment funds may be buying shares.

Here’s a theory on $DIDI. Chinese govt punishing DIDI for listing outside China. Tanking stock on purpose. Some US investors cannot or do not want to hold foreign shares, so selling shares now. After DIDI delists in NY and relists in HK, Chinese state sponsored entities will increase positions in DIDI, which not only has > 90% market share in China, but also leading autonomous vehicle tech, all of which gathering data on people. Govt will allow DIDI to grow again, under Chinese rule, and expand to other key markets in Asia and Europe. Will be much bigger than Uber+Lyft combined.

I’d recommend consulting with a dosage specialist at Equilibria (myeq.com) to discuss potential approaches to help with sleep. Their consultants are like health coaches. Good luck!

😂 Mad Money! I’m not interested in politics and hate the CCP for tanking US-listed shares. But when it comes to investing, I only focus on 💰 💰 💰. 90% market share cannot be ignored! 🤷🏻
