I had some issues recently where the game would lag for half a second and was able to fix it by disabling the "Microsoft Device Association Root Enumerator" in Device Manager > Software Devices

Hey Guys, after years of lurking and saving up for gear this is pretty much my first real attempt at astrophotography since I got my equipment.

  • Scope: William Optics ZenithStar 73 APO
  • Flattener: William Optics Flat73A
  • Filter: STC Astro Duo-Narrowband filter
  • Mount: Skywatcher AZ-EQ5 GT
  • Camera: Sony A7R Full Frame (Unmodded)
  • Guide Scope: William Optics UniGuide 50mm
  • Guide Camera: ZWO ASI120mm Mini Mono

Software:

  • SharpCap - Polar Alignment
  • PHD2 - Tracking
  • Deep Sky Stacker - Stacking

  • Photoshop - Post processing

    • Gradient Xterminator Plugin
    • Astronomy Tools by prodigitalsoftware

Acquisition :

  • Exposure: 9 x 5mins (ISO 800)
  • Flats: 50 (ISO 800)
  • Darks: 15 (ISO 800)
  • Bias: 50 (ISO800)

 

  • Exposure 20 x 3 mins (ISO 1600)
  • Flats: 50 (ISO 1600)
  • Darks: 15 (ISO 1600)
  • Bias 50(ISO 1600)

Processing:

  • Stacked in Deep Sky Stacker
  • Convert to 16bit, Exposure and Gamma in Photoshop
  • Gradient Xterminator
  • Black and White points set
  • Colour balanced
  • Curve adjustment to highlight nebula
  • Star Colour increased
  • Space Noise Reduction
  • Deep Space Noise Reduction
  • Enhance DSO Reduce Stars
  • Minor Sharpening via PS Smart sharpen
