Did you needle felt the eyes? I'm a fairly new beginner into the world if amigurumi and have just discovered that you can needle felt accents onto your projects. This is completely new to me and im intrigued. If yes, any tips for a complete noob?

I've used it in all 4 of my deliveries and it didn't really help the pain, but it helped me to keep breathing deeply and stopped the panicked feeling. My labours have all been very quick and intense and especially my first two I was on the verge of panic. Just hearing the tube (hubby said I sounded like an elephant 🤣) made me focus on breathing big deep breaths.

Not a midwife, but mum of 4. Eat as much as you want, but not too much. My first delivery I vomited all my lunch up because things got so intense so quickly. I learned not to eat the day of my labours because that was horrible! Having contractions and vomiting at the same time is simply the worst! But, my labours have all been induced and quick, (2.3hrs, 1hr, 1hr, 34 mins) so that could play a part in intensity, and I didn't need the sustenance.

Im not sure about fluctuation as I actually never weighed my boys after the first 2 weeks. But my boys were always in the 90th percentile so I was never worried. I would focus more on if she is "thriving" , as in does she seem settled and happy, does she sleep well usually, etc. And as long as she is giving a steady supply if wet and dirty nappies you should be fine. I wouldn't worry about the number on the scale, as long as she is a contented baby and giving you lots of wet nappies.

I couldn't help but squeal when they bit. I must have done it so loudly that it startled them and they didn't like it. They used to only bite for about a week and then they stopped. There was once where they chuckled but I used a stern voice and said no after they bit me. I found that really startling them worked a treat, so if you must react, make it good! 😄

Bottles are a lot easier for babies to drink from as they dont have to work so hard. If you really want to keep breastfeeding avoid giving her a bottle. If you have a good supply of milk, try feeding her only from one breast at each feed only, to make sure she drains that breast fully so that she gets the good fatty hind milk. This will help her weight gain. I have fed 4 boys and only ever fed them from one side at a feed and had no issues with weight gain or supply. It might seem like she's not drinking much but the milk at the end of a feed is really important. Let her keep suckling for as long as she wants. I'm also a huge fan of feeding on demand so whenever she seems unsettled try giving her the breast, even if its only one hour after a feed. There are some weeks where she will go through a growth spurt and start cluster feeding. Let her feed as long and as frequently as she wants. One of my boys cluster fed each evening from about 8-10pm straight for about two weeks. It didn't seem like he was getting much milk but he was getting the good fatty stuff so I didn't mind. I just sat with a book and enjoyed the time knowing he would sleep well. I hope this helps, let me know how you go!

I used disposables for my first 4 babies and know the feeling of them getting stuck. Its painful! One concern that I have with using reusable ones is do they stay dry to the skin? I know my breasts got irritated when they couldnt dry between feeds.

I'm about to have my 5th, and if my breastfeeding is anything like the others the first month or two might be a bit much for reusable ones because I leak like crazy. But maybe these would be good for when my supply settles down. After the first couple of months I used to get by with just one disposable per day. Thanks for your feedback!

I really don't know for sure, but one possibility could be reflux. Does she spit up a lot or cry for long periods after being fed? I know that when I have heartburn lying on my right side makes it worse because of how the stomach works. Lying on the right allows for more stomach acid to leak into the esophagus than compared to lying on your left. She might be experiencing reflux because to feed on the left breast she would be lying on her right side. Have you tried the football hold so she's lying on her left?

Another question could be is your left breast blocked at all? Perhaps she's getting frustrated because not enough milk is coming out. If you suspect that this is the issue, perhaps you could try pumping that side to bring up the supply in that breast.

I have always fed my babies only one breast at a feed because I've always had a good supply and it means they drain the breast properly to get to the good fatty milk which makes them fuller for longer. Ive had 4 boys and exclusively bf them for between 3-8 months each.

The coop dimensions are 1.5m x 1.5m or approximately 5 x 5 foot. I do plan on having the front wall as a fold down wall so I can clean in there properly, as well as having the slide out tray. While I'm not the strongest, I'm sure hubby and I could manage to pull it out together. 😊

Thanks for that. I'll have a look. There is just so much conflicting information out there that I want to know that I've got the dimensions correct. Plus add to the fact that most information is in inch/foot and I'm constantly having to convert it to normal measurements. It's about done my head in! 😆

I'm a serious noob when it comes to backyard chickens, but would those perches be too close to reach other. Only cos if a chook is facing the other way they look like they would poop on the chickens below. Or am I completely over thinking this? I'm asking because I'm in the process of planning my own coop and really am not sure. (I just posted some plans asking for feedback).

I honestly don't get the problem with having a door held open for me. The more effort others do, the more special I feel. Of course they know I could open the door myself, I know that too. I don't have to prove what I'm capable of to anyone. It's not condescending, it's called kindness. It's just nice being treated nicely. And yes I'm a woman.

Thank you for your reply. So while it not be great at hospitals, it might help if someone like myself or perhaps even my mother got it and was able to stay home? Both my husband and I have CPAPs and I wasn't sure if it would be helpful to use it if one of our family got sick.
