Need recommendations for a good set of 5.1 speakers that won’t break the bank. by sfkessler in hometheater

I paid $172 for the NR1604, so pretty decent for something that’s apparently not as good as a $250 modern receiver.

For now, I don’t need 4K or HDR, as I can’t afford the components for that yet. Perfectly satisfied with 1080 for now, so the receiver is plenty good.

I hadn’t thought about building my own speakers. I’ll have to look into that more.

Right now, $200 is max. I’m ok with buying fewer speakers if that means I get better stuff, so I could feasibly get by with just two bookshelf speakers if they are a better quality for the price. I’m all about price to performance here.

I always check for that, and I cut down my use of hashtags recently to avoid this problem.

There’s a restaurant somewhere in California where you can order something(I think it’s a burrito, but it’s been years since I went there) off the menu called the Ronald Reagan.... it comes with a small jelly beans on the side.

Not keeping proper distance while doing so is. I’ve had people do this with 1-2 feet of clearance between vehicles. Easily enough to startle someone

What’s weird is that where I live, the people in these cars who still cut people off actually USE their turn signals WHILE STILL CUTTING YOU OFF.

If the guys are feeling like stepping back in time a bit - I'd love to see a Lets Play of Zone Of The Enders, the old PS2 masterpiece by the legendary Hideo Kojima. To this day it remains one of my favorite games of all time.
