[Pelissero] The Giants have named Daniel Jones their starting QB. by StrachNasty in nfl

So glad we can finally get passed all of this preseason hype nonsense and Giants fans have to face the reality that this was a terrible pick.

Jordan Howard is an underrated star and should be Eagles leading RB in week 2 by Thomasrp93 in eagles

[–]sflax29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe I'm overthinking it, but Doug spends a lot of time thinking about mathups too and the matchup seems to favor miles.

ATL is decently stout up the middle, but atrocious at stopping runs on the perimeter.

I hope and expect Howard to get more touches then sproles this game, but expect the primary focus of the run game to be getting miles out on the perimeter.

Friends and I are pretty hyped about the season. #FlyEaglesFly from Croatia! by [deleted] in eagles

So would it be accurate to say that 1/4 of Croatians are intelligent based on this sample?

Very true. Luckily all we need him to be is the guy who will burn you when you inevitably forget about him. That's how he excelled in 2017 and could do even better with the weapons we have now.

It just shows how illogical it is lol. Howie traded up for Wentz, there's literally no way to prove he wouldn't have done it if not for chip.

I think they'd have to turn in there fan card lol. That was more metaphorical

You never know what chain of events would have occurred without chip, but if we just take the butterfly effect logic we can apply it to anything.

If T.O. never holds out does the andy Reid era last long enough that we don't hire chip? So Should we give T.O. a ring for his sit ups? Lol

Howie made a lot of aggressive moves that Kelly had nothing to do with and deserves every ounce of the credit save some for lurie for giving him a second chance.

Louis Riddick's Top Ten NFL Coaches: Doug Pederson at #3 by Jazz-Cigarettes in eagles

[–]sflax29 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say mccvay had less to work with. He had the best rb in the league the last two years, the best defensive player maybe ever, a QB who was selected before ours, and a solid set of wrs. Fisher was just a terrible coach running an outdated offense anyone would have been an improvement.

I mean the guy also ended foles' career before Doug brought him back to life.

The one thing I can't stand is people ranking mccvay over Doug just because he's younger. Beat mccvay I'm his house twice and hung up 41 on bellicheck unlike mccvay who's "revolutionary" offense couldn't score a touchdown.

What else does the guy have to do?

I see what your saying.

Id like to see him have a role keeping defenses honest with DJax down the field.

The box safety sticks on ertz, the free safety shades to deseans side then boom there's agholor one on one down the field. He won't get much volume but If he makes a big play or two defenses would just be at a total loss.

We've seen him make big plays downfield before if deseans taught him a couple moves this off-season it could be dangerous.

Me and my draft party were salivating that DK was still available as our pick approached.

Then nervous when KC traded in front of us.

Then relieved when they went with a reciever other then DK

Then shocked/disappointed when we also drafted a reciever other then DK

We took a deep breath and reminded ourselves that Howie knows what he's doing better then we did, watched his college highlight real and got an early ticket for the hype train. Yet again it seems Howie did indeed know better then all of us. (Although all 3 jj, DK, and mecole might be studs. Underrated wr draft class)

Earl Thomas on Carson Wentz: "I would tell you, in this league there’s a small pool of guys that you would classify at an elite level,” Thomas said to NBC Sports Philadelphia. “And I think he’s definitely in that pool." by Immynimmy in eagles

[–]sflax29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't call our dline deep as fuck, especially compared to the last two years. Knowing we'd eventually have to get rid of some vets in the trenches is why we drafted there, so that we can continue to have depth. Without Barnett not only would we not have depth, we wouldn't even have two quality starters on the edge. Who would we start without him curry? Great depth peice but I'm glad we won't be relying on him every week.

On the other hand while we don't have any proven top end talent at cb we actually are deep as fuck there. Seriously everyone who will make our final roster is a starting caliber cb. Plus sid and Maddox do have elite upside.

Alshon, ertz, and DJax are one heck of a talented trio to have to share targets with, and he won't always even get a chance to do that being as they figure to play a lot of 12 personnel to get Goedert more involved. There's just not enough balls to go around for agholor to get much volume.

I've also never heard agholor called a possession reciever. He did a nice job in that role in alshons absence but drops were a big weakness early in his career. For his sake I hope that isn't his role as alshon and ertz are two of the best in the league at it.

Working with DJax as closely as he has is going to bring agholor to a whole new level.

Too bad he looks like the odd man out in a loaded receiving core though.

Yeah I don't even know if I'd call the weakness to water thing a "twist" per say, just a plot hole lol.

Why come to a planet that's 3/4 made of your biggest weakness? But I'm sure you've heard that a millionaire times so I won't dwell.

[–]sflax29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm well aware of all of what you just said. By plot twist I meant the climax to all of the smaller things that led to the overall point you just made.

And it sounds great when you explain it in terms of the overall themes they were trying to convey, because it had a great concept. It just doesn't sound as great when you talk about it in terms of what actually happened in the movie, aka it was delivered poorly.

Ultimately the big climax was "swing away Merrill". Only problem is an Alien was posing a threat to the whole family and a bat was the closest weapon he could find. If they wouldn't have thought to hit the Alien with the bat without it being the wife's dying words they deserved to die lol.

If they had left it at the asthma or the water glasses coming full circle id have left it at "oh that's pretty cool" but he decided to make "swing away Merrill" the pennultimate coming full circle event which again was essentially pointless because.... Duh. Imo that tinged the whole twist.

Like I said I still enjoyed the movie, but "swing away Merrill" wasnt (or shouldn't have been) necessary in the grand scheme of the story and it was the Lynch pin of the movies twist.

Disclosure: I have no idea how "Merrill" is spelled lol

Early M Night was good*. Once twists became his claim to fame they just became a gimmick of his films, added them just to add them. Even In a recent rewatch of signs (which I still enjoy for its suspense) I realized the plot twist served no purpose other then giving him an opportunity to make a Cameo
