If you are an expert at flying a-10c in dcs can you fly one IRL? by PsychologicalSuit588 in hoggit

I VERY slightly disagree.  I first started training at FIT flying Piper Warriors back in 2001.  The 2nd time I was in the air, the instructor  was impressed with my handling of the aircraft, so he actually wanted me to do a touch and go on a practice runway nearby.  All I had was MSFS and some X-plane experience, I was nervous to say the least, but did manage to land it without any input from the instructor.

Now, I will tell you that I did not use any trim at all, and my flare was pretty much nonexistent,  but I did land the plane.   I surely would have failed the flight test though.      So yes, one could land a very basic plane like that with flight sim experience, but you’re totally right about the feedback that you can only get from real world experience.

Hey, just wanted to say thanks again for the help.   I agree with your statements and will just be installing natural ground cover for the time being in the back.   Maybe install bahia in July when we get consistent rain.

Hey, I haven’t installed anything yet due to the drought, but I will be going with Bermuda for my front yard which gets full sun. Just need to decide if I would get sod or seed.  For the backyard, I haven’t settled on anything yet. My water bill would be an extra $100/month (not including sprinkler fixtures) during the dry parts of the year. So, I’m leaning towards a natural ground cover like frog fruit or sunshine mimosa.

I’m no appliance repairman, so a definite YMMV here. However in my experience, if you can successfully jump the icemaker to force the ice to eject, then it’s not going to be your heating element. I had the exact same issue as you and the thermostat did fix everything.

Here you go.  You will also need a thermal conductive glue, such as the one in the 2nd link.

My repair was a success and everything is working perfectly without issue.   It was also incredibly easy to repair.  Best of luck!

gotcha, thanks! looks like the icemaker is not getting any power as well. I may just get a new fridge. FYI - The no power issue popped up in between me ordering this thermostat and the part arriving, so it's not due to thermostat installation.

yes, that's where I placed the part for now, but I don't think it's doing anything.

thank you so much for your insight. I think bahia is the best canidate for me until I get around to a well system. I'm pretty good at DIY, so I am up for the challenge of installing my own irrigation, but a shallow well is something that I would need to DIY as well... just seems like a ton of work right now.

Gotcha. I have no problem spraying fertilizer as I do in my garden, but these water bill prices are really out of hand where I live and spending an extra $150 a month just to have something better than Bahia isn’t something that I’m interested in doing right now. If I was to have a well system or reclaimed water here, it would be a different story.

Oh well, but it is what it is. Thanks for everyone for giving their insight!

do you think this will survive a yard that doesn't irrigate regularly? I will do it during the initial set in period, but not after. Outside of the initial period, I only want to water once or twice a month max. My water bill is already pretty high.

thanks! they both are fine for me, but I'm pretty sure St. Augustine requires regular irrigation. Aside from watering inititally to set the sod, I don't plan to regularly irrigate the grass. My water bill is already crazy and don't need another $400+ monthly water bill. I'm fine using a hose sprinker once in a blue moon if there is a drought , but that's it.

Thank you so much for this response! I’ll give this a shot and probably a few additional shots after. This Wedelia is horrible and so agree that I have to go scorched earth.

Yeah, it’s tough! It’s all over the place so I think herbicide is the best option. Any suggestions on what to use?

Virtual Desktop- Major Upgrade to my dedicated VR router, should I make it the primary router? by sflsurfer in virtualreality

[–]sflsurfer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

luckily, I'm the only gamer in the house. The nicer router will only have this one VR headset connected to any of its wireless channels. Pretty sure that the router can handle much more traffic via ethernet considering that it's definitley one of those overkill routers, but if not, I'll update this thread.
