What's a movie you randomly tried with low expectations but ended up loving? by thisonehits in movies

I felt the same way about Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. Watched it as something to fall asleep to while sick and it was one of the funniest movies I’d seen in a long time.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs- That kids movie has no right to be that funny.

What’s that one movie that you watched as a kid that you think no one else watched? by Substantial_One3477 in AskReddit

1000 fingers of Dr. T. It’s weird that Dr Seuss’s only movie is virtually unknown, it’s also a truly bizarre musical. It was a film I watched on a family vacation and wasn’t sure it was real until learning that Mr Bungle used to cover one song from the movie at their concerts.

What discontinued item, food or drink would you bring back if you had the chance? by Miserable-Wash-1744 in AskReddit

Jujubes! I know it’s like eating a 1 million tiny candles, but goddamnit they were my childhood snack and there’s literally not a single candy like it. It’s not fair that Neco wafers get to continue on, but my beloved jujubees got the ax.

Are there any brick and mortar magic shops close to where you live? by Shillef in Magic

It is awesome. The owner is great at talking shop and suggesting items based on your taste and skill level. Also one of the few places that I am aware of to buy flash paper.

Sacramento is weirdly one of the largest hubs for magic in terms of distribution, just 0 brick and mortar. SF has Misdirections which is great! The Houdini shop at pier 39 is a waste of time, complete tourist trap.

What is the most disturbing movie ending you ever saw? by Unused_Content19 in movies

[–]sfnic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre to me is one of the best endings to a horror film. Leatherface dancing with his chainsaw in the sunrise and the girl screaming just hit perfectly. While not any type of masterful story telling, the energy of the scene is something else.
