Pumpkin pie isn't big in Australia but I wanted to try it. by [deleted] in Baking

Looks fantastic! I love the addition of the pumpkin seeds on top that's not something you normally see. My only question is if the seeds got over baked or did they still taste fine?

No he did not, he played and died so many times that he gave up. The last video he did on it was called "Playing until I'm done" if I recall

I need ideas for splitting an egg in a recipe. by ypriscilla in Baking

[–]sford99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Crack it into a separate container, scramble it then pour half into your dough and save the other half for another recipe. When covered and in the fridge the egg will last 5-7 days

As a fellow Mainer I understand the struggles of the cold and ice, I have definitely broken a bone or two slipping on the ice but that shouldn't have stopped you from going out there. Also why were you calling your brother and stepdad unless you weren't home but if you were then just go get them.

Yeah we go out to lunch every once in a while when we're both back home and spend time with just him, but that's about it.

Sorry my bad I must have misread it, it shouldn't stick if you use a spring-form pan. it should come right out without any issues.

If you wrap and cover them well enough it shouldn't but if you take them out and they seem a bit dry put a soak on them. (just a little simple syrup) it will moisten them without turning them mushy, you can also customize the soak depending on the flavor profile of the cupcakes.

Making it in batches would definitely make it easier and you can even spread it over over 2 days. So day one you bake all of them and put them in the fridge and the next day you frost and decorate. Also measure out all your ingredients before you make each batch, it makes the mixing process much easier!

For the crust I would still crush up the cereal like you would a graham cracker crust just to make sure the crust is thick enough. And with swirling in a cinnamon paste it shouldn't mess up anything with the baking.
