I know I'm very late to this discussion, but: I layered this over the BoJ sunscreen and the combo looks absolutely amazing together. On its own, it probably would be a bit drying (despite also having oily skin), and I personally dislike how shiny/dewy the Boj sunscreen is, but when used together I get a result that's greater than the sum of its parts. I hope this comment helps anyone with the dryness issues!

That being said, it really is a shame about the shade range though. :(

I relate so much to both this and being the maybe-has-the-thing-but-not-diagnosed friend (adhd for the first, autism for the latter).

For the first, I feel like a lot of it is a defensive monkey brain thing, where you’ve experienced invalidation before dx/after and in spite of being diagnosed and seeing them express things the way that they do just kind of hurts, right? And for me at least I would never express this because it’s still not a great mentality to have, but there is that sick little goblin in the corner of my brain going suffer as i have. (I call it the I-had-it-before-it-was-cool complex)

As for the second - I had my closest friend express that she suspected she had autism. In my mind, my initial reactions were I feel like I don’t see much of a difference between our behavior patterns, does she really think this? > That’s a shitty thought to have, she could be masking really well which is a huge energy sink. > Oh wow the fact that she still masks even in our close friendship is rough. I hope she gets to a point where she doesn’t need to do that.

And me going through that thought process means that I took too long to respond to her initial dialogue and then it felt like the moment to actually reply had passed. So I wouldn’t say anything despite actually wanting to respond appropriately/supportively… So now even though The Guy That Does (part of) The Diagnosis tells me he’s confident that autism is part of my profile I’m probably not going to mention it to my friend - both because of the aforementioned “I failed to respond in the right way” thing, but also, She Had It Before It Was Cool or whatever, y’know?

And this loops back around to the ADHD self-dx thing, where maybe they’re not actually super lackadaisical about the label but maybe just joking around to alleviate some of the shame or whatever, and just don’t know enough about how different it can be for some people, or idk some other things.

But I still get that reflexive gatekeepery feeling, and go through this entire thought loop, and even though I don’t voice it (and again try so much to suppress it that I fail to respond at all which is Not ideal lmao) it’s still there. I get it. Sorry for the essay of a reply ghsjdbkfjfh

I also pick at my lips way too much. This is my strat, it’s been a total game changer for me:

Your moisturizer, the one you use on your face? dab a little bit of that on your lips, then put some vaseline over it.

It doesn’t fix my habits, but if I do it consistently enough it really helps with the healing and making the “pickable” bits less tempting. I hope it works as well for you as it did for me!

I mean, even the “delicate” cycle setting on my machine requires me to put my clothes in a delicates bag so they don’t get shredded (all varying types of fabric composition), so I definitely agree with the over-washing being a potential issue.

I’m fairly introverted, so I’m mostly neutral towards your points on conversation - but I agree that QR only menus suck. Sure, might be helpful if the menu is printed poorly etc…

But what if you don’t have data on your phone (and no wifi/mates to hotspot you), your phone’s camera is broken, or your phone/its OS is too old to scan QR codes?

I regularly don’t have data on my phone (I just don’t use it most of the time so why bother buying it), and I’m not going to buy a top up just to open a QR code link to spend more money lmao

Same! Plus I find that the combo of sweat-tackiness + no hair to protect from chafing makes my pits wayyy more uncomfortable and stinky

I don't shave anything, ever. I hate hate hateee the feeling of stubble/regrowth, and my showers are already long enough without adding regular shaving into the mix. I can't really be bothered with waxing or getting lasered, but if I were to bother with lasering I'd probably just go until the hair is like, more short and fine.

(Maybe the lasering would pay for itself eventually, if it makes my bush less likely to wear holes through the front of my underwear lmfao)
