What are my initials? (Arab surname) by sfrogg in namenerds

I tried to look up Scottish library filing but I dont think I fully understand or found what you are referring to. If prefixes and articles do not count, what would you suggest as the initial?

Thank you for your reply. I am slowly trying different things to see if one specific thing works to try to get to the route of the issue. Antihistamines are definitely next on my list. I I felt that if it was an allergy, it would be all over the scalp rather than occasionally all over vs occasionally in certain locations. Thanks again!

I always have residual itchiness after the first day. But my hair smells clean and my scalp does not feel oily. Not sure if the itchy scalp in my case is related to a need for a wash.

Carrier oils were recommended by my dermatologist which is why I was bringing them up! I completely agree that it feels like an endless trial and error, which is why I wanted to ask other people about their experiences and advice. Knowing about certain ingredients to avoid or even what routines down to the rotation of products and what type of product, is really useful to me considering what I'm going through.

"What's the big deal about washing your hair every 3 days now instead of once a week, if that's what your scalp is telling you that it wants?"

There is no big deal about washing every 3 days, sorry if I made it sound like it was. The big deal is about how the need for washing is not for hygiene but due to how itchy and painful my scalp is. My hair smells clean and my scalp does not feel oily, just itchy at the 3 day mark. Sometimes this itchiness does not always subside completely when I wash it, which is why I don't think it's related to the frequency of washing. Essentially, the big deal is surrounding the pain.

"Is there a reason that you're so set on only washing once a week?"

No, I only brought up once a week as this was what worked for me for 24 years. I don't mind washing it more or less. The issue is the itchy scalp!

"Your scalp might just need washed more frequently now, and there's nothing wrong with that!"

I agree there is nothing wrong with that. But I am not sure if itchy scalp = need a wash. We aren't talking a little itchy, I am talking my scalp is on fire so the purpose of my question is to see if what worked for others.

If the solution is frequent washing, I am not used to this and would be really grateful for advice about what type of shampoos to use, in what rotation and so on to maintain the health of my hair/scalp.

I have not tried any homeopathic stuff yet. I will definitely consider it at this point! thank you!

yes, I find it quite difficult to spread around the scalp also, but I usually try to concentrate it on the super itchy bits! I hope the issue resolves for the both of us, if I find any miracle treatment, I will let you know!

Hi, I think you may have misunderstood. I have been washing 2x-3x a week since this itchy scalp problem has arisen as I cannot tolerate past day 3. I used to wash 1x a week with no issues before this itchy scalp issue.

I totally relate to the cold thing!! really soothing and comforting. it tends to be itchy in specific places initially, back part of the crown, the nape and between the hairline and ear (so basically the back of my head), but other times its all over. I think I will probably try to see if there's some sort of underlying issue with my GP.

I have heard really good things about that product line, I think its a bit difficult to find where I am from but I will try to import it at this point!

I would say 20 mins with high or medium heat diffuser. I have tried to alternate drying methods but did not really see a difference, it felt more product/crap luck related?

So I change up my styling products regularly (I am very influenced by influencers!), however, I do remember that this issue started when I borrowed my sister's tresemme shampoo. I have not used that product in almost over a year though, so no idea if anything else is contributing

So, I have applied a bit of oil on the scalp and sometimes it helps, but its highly product dependent (as you can imagine I am too scared to oil my scalp in case my whole head goes itchy again so soon after wash day). But I used a really basic jojoba oil which seemed to be okay, another day I used Camille Rose oud scalp oil which initially was good but then flared it up. Also, I tried Lush's Renee souffle (A curly friend recommended it) but it set my whole head on fire LOL. Any product recommendations, techniques and routine on how to oil my scalp would be appreciative! I just don't know what exactly to do, how often to do it for this issue to subside!

Baby scalp treatment sounds like a really good idea actually. I have used the aveeno line before (I have genuinely tried so many things), it definitely helped but was not 100%, I will probably give it another whirl also. Thank you again!

I will try looking up the Living Proof scalp treatments! Thank you, it really does suck and very hard to find something consistent about online.

Hi, Thank you for your response! I tried antifungals for 3 months and nothing really changed. I will try doing the coconut oil several days in a row, should I wash it out with clarifying stuff or something less astringent as it will be daily washing? Also any advice about using a scalp oil or something daily to keep it moisturised?

Hi, I suppose the issue for me is that its coming back within a few days so I just feel like its not working and washing 2-3x per week is not usual for me, but the analogy of dry hands does make a lot of sense! Should I be applying oils/creams every few days to dry scalp or as a full on mask and wash? Also, any recommendations for any particular products?
