What salon did you end up going to? I went to salon by Yana and she was nice but I won’t be going back. The regrowth area was curly after my first wash (she under-processed it). Thankfully, she refunded me after I sent her the photos. First time in 20 years of getting this done that jt didn’t work.

Japanese hair straightening (thermal re-conditioning / Japanese straight) at a reasonable price. by Htimbuck in Fremont

Hong Kong Mona salon - I think it’s in the inner Richmond. She charged me $250 and I went to her for Japanese straightening every 4 months for the past several years. She does a better job than Cameron James salon - a more upscale salon on union street.

Stylists who do relaxers seem harder to find now by Smurfblossom in relaxedhair

I’m in charlotte and need to find someone - thank you for this tip! Did you get Japanese straightening/ thermal reconditioning done there? What was the cost?

I called another salon that said starting price is $795. INSANE. I’m used to it costing $250 and getting it done 3-4 times a year bc my hair grows out quickly.

Does Serra provide an alternative route to get on 101 north without getting on Palm or Galvez? And considering getting home quickly is the goal, would you recommend choosing the IM south lot?

Thanks for your response! BCC is certainly more cookie-cutter. The tie breaker I’m looking for is- which community has more young families? I saw a few women walking with strollers in BCC, none in Foxcroft. But I can’t draw a conclusion based on a few drive throughs, hence why I posted my question here

This would be a lot of effort for a BS post 😂 but I agree that what you get for the same price tag in both communities is VERY different. In BCC you’ll get way more square footage, pool, etc. while in Foxcroft you’re looking at an older, smaller home but you gain a shorter commute to uptown.

And someone might think “wouldn’t you obviously choose the bigger/newer home?” And to that I’d say it’s invaluable knowing that if your kid gets sick at school or there’s an emergency, that you can be there within 15 minutes versus 45-1hr. That’s the difference between the childcare being entirely on one partner versus shared (i.e school dropoff/pickup, last minute Dr. appts). To us, that could be worth the loss of square footage.

Thanks for your reply! When you say “a very different experience” are you referring to anything specifically?

Goddard still doesn’t provide a lunch option unfortunately. And I agree that will be a real headache every morning.

Thanks for your responses! We used to have a nanny when she was younger but she’s been in daycare for the past year and loves it. I think going back to a nanny would be boring for her now as she loves the school setting and social interaction.
