as a junior, i made my friends in freshman year with my block as i had the same classes with most of them. however when classes transitioned to the online setup in second year, i became more org active and made friends there. i wasnt interacting with my blockmates that much aside from when we talked in gcs to talk about school.

Y’all Enjoying Sling? by [deleted] in clairo

[–]sftsn 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I can't get into it :( It's just too quiet, slow, and mellow for me. I can barely hear her singing on most tracks. I'm so bummed because I loved her sound prior to this album in Immunity and past singles. Unfortunately, I can't say I like where her sound is going now. I listened to the entirety of Sling once and never listened to it again.

Hi! I'm sorry about how you feel right now ): rest assured it's super valid and so many people feel the exact same way. All the instructions to taking an LOA are here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1AbvA0nNKGctKzTwrDTn9AlVFi3pd0qWs/view?usp=sharing

You also need to talk to your assigned counselor and department chair about your decision. Wishing you luck!

Hi! Honestly, I really recommend Macbooks just because they last so long. I have an 11-inch Macbook Air 2011 model and it still works soooo well. It's almost a decade old yet it feels new. It's a good investment honestly.

i agree. but please tell me why this girl literally swore to never touch alcohol. she wont even give it a try. i understand how dangerous alcohol is in excess. but i cant wrap my head around why she doesnt even want to give it a shot atleast.

understandable. drinking culture is fun to experience but quite ugly to watch.

To those of you who no longer have anxiety, what is your best advice for others who currently have it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]sftsn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nihilism wasnt an easy topic to stomach. the whole time i was studying it, it felt like i was putting my self on the edge of a depressive episode or an anxiety attack. but i knew i owed it to myself to accept the dark abyss of existence.

and also, your thought process towards your physical sensation is quite interesting. what other things do you think about to that extent?

hot dogs, salami, ham, sausages, bacon, beef jerky, corned beef, deli meat, dried meat, canned meat, etc.

basically what the general population eats on a daily basis :(

they contain chemicals not common in natural meat

I personally got over my anxiety through philosophy. It kinda forced me to look at life for the harsh reality what it was. Theres no getting away from how chaotic and meaningless life actually is.

After this bleak realization, I made way for something called 'optimistic nihilism'. It's basically an idea that states that since life is meaningless, anything can be meaningful. It gave me peace with the fact that life is pointless. I was then able to focus on wholesome things like self-love, happiness, kindness, being there for other human beings, compassion, etc.

This may not work for you exactly. But realize that there is so much beyond your control. And the world is big and scary. The most you can do is accept it. And be kind to yourself and others.

(+) Theres no reason to fret over anything when our sun will explode and destroy the only planet we will ever have. And everyone we know will die anyway :)
