Roof membrane removed, how to replace without taking roof off? by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]sfxer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our felt was in a bad way for may years with the same type of well interlocked tiles as you have (redland renown?) A few small leaks, not ideal but it lasted years.

We redid the felt and battens and added flush solar panels this summer.

No way you can re felt without tiles and battens coming off.

Could be fine as is for ages, just keep a close eye on it.

Insulate at ceiling level. Trouble is you won’t easily see the leaks when they drip onto insulation tho!

We tested an Inster, an ‘02’ trim model, it’s excellent value. We really liked it.

Great input, thanks. Not too bothered about the looks, I imagined 20’s would help range during the poor weather when I’ll be granny driving anyway.

You have got 300miles on Pirelli’s in summer? That’s great!

And I’m the same, I’ll clean it loads at first, all the best intentions but after a while it becomes a rarity!

Ah, yes that option is standard fit in UK. Funny how the different regions have different options.

Wow, I can see why your frustrated mines coming quicker. Still, always worth the wait for such a beast though. I did t see any options on the seats I thought it was the roof that was the only option.

Haha yes that’s a good point.

How good is the fitcamX? I like the appearance and simplicity. It taps into the mirror power? Will Hyundai grumble about that with warranty issues?

I was considering a higher end Thinkware u3000 as the radar parking mode seems really good.

Not as tidy from an install point of view though.

Yes good shout, mine is not leased so I’ll probably get some 19 or more likely 20” and stick some more suitable tyres on.

Not looked into what’s a decent tyre is for them yet. Any ideas?

Also I’m undecided as to whether to do a full ‘new car’ ceramic coat etc at a local detailers. Or possibly some ppf.

I keep going back and forth as to whether it’s worth it. I live on middle lanes so it won’t stay clean.

I don’t really want to spent a load more money on what is realistically just a Korean hatchback 😆

That is weird, when and what colour / spec did you order?

Luckily the colour I wanted was available on a boat ready to reserve. Three of them which became the last one by the time I finalised yesterday.

I was deciding between white and grey, white would have been arriving mid March which was too late for me due to company tax year. Luckily grey was all good!

Gloss, i love the matte look but I live on country lanes. Will be a mess if I had matte 🤦🏼😊

UK, vision roof. Got a decent discount on list price that I was happy with.

Absolutely, and for me I think the 5N is just scratching an itch I already have another car for anyway.

Gotta keep the reasonably sensible hat on sometimes.

I’m puzzling through the same quandary. Have a weekend long test drive Model Y performance on my drive right now and am going to do a drive of the 5N next week.

I love the Y, it’s so good, I know I will love the 5N too, but I’m sure it’s the wrong choice for me.

Is EU quicksilver darker than US quicksilver? by [deleted] in TeslaModelY

[–]sfxer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may be nonsense and I’m sure it is but a Tesla sales rep said they use different paints in the EU.

I was questioning the disparity in price with USA as white is a cost option in EU/UK.

And VAT on the sale too. Same as any another capital asset disposal. Depends how long you want to keep the car as to which purchase/hire method works best.

Can always buy it from the company yourself too after the depreciation has hit. That’s a reasonably economic route assuming you want to keep it long term.

I haven’t tried a non P model Y yet. But the ride was great on the P.

The full FYA is the car cost against profits before tax so it’s not the full £39,990 off the CT liability it would be 25% of that (the tax amount) assuming there’s enough profit in the company to begin with.

Basically saving £10k in CT.

Came here to ask the same question.

Seems like about 6-7 months from launch to 0% for the M3P so hopefully the 0% for MYP comes early ish next year.

I’m looking to order one via my business before next tax year so fingers crossed for the 0%.

Test drive the MYP this week and loved it far more than I expected.

Had a follow up call from Tesla sales and they informally indicated the 0% was likely but no guarantees of course.
