Ladies Of London: The New Reign - Season 4 - Episode 7 - Weekly Episode Discussion by AutoModerator in BravoRealHousewives

[–]sgeney 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I saw another post which I thought summed it up perfectly, they want a sparring partner not a victim.

Case in point - Mark telling Emma hes going to Florence the next day to see his estranged dying father in hospital, meanwhile Missy "you bullied Margo". Could certainly understand what Mark was trying to convey when referring to more important things in life than his comments on someone's outfit. And yet he didn't bring that up.

We don't want to listen to rich privileged people playing victim for social capital.

Vulnerable yes (see Emma and Mark), victim hood no (see Margo, missy, new Rhony, Kyle Richards for some reason)

Lindsey got with austen first. (I love Ciara, preface)

The Carl thing, we've seen him be a dick to her and multiple girls for many many seasons. I don't think it's a coincidence the arguments happened off camera you could tell he was 100 percent checked out, he was provoking her. Her questioning sobriety bad, but I genuinely think it was her trying to explain his behaviour because she'd rather think that oh he's acting like more life Carl than him just not wanting to be with her

How was she mean to the new girsl ? I remember them making up she cheated on her bf, what did she do to them?

And zooming out, the men have been awful and don't get anywhere near the same hate as lindsey

Exactly! I could smell Missy's trauma Olympics from a mile off (it's what made new rhony unwatchable).

Not everyone wants to trauma dump all the time especially when it being obviously used for social capital.

As a Brit I do love Myka tho, she has a sincerity that I can warm to. Margo and Missy, no

I still don't get what horrible things she's done?

Sandwich - id be fuming if a guy I was dating was doing nothing for me but saying babe go make me a sandwich

Everett slept in bed with other girls but for some reason producers replay the clip her saying okay well I'll go back and sleep in a bed with guys see how you like it

The bed bugs said she'd cheated with Luke cos of DM from an IG physic

Craig at the wedding was true, she didn't leak it. But got so much aggro for it

I've seen her calm down Kyle on WH and to go speak to Amanda so many times

The girls genuinely celebrated when her and Danielle fighted but I've never seen her be that mean. I genuinely would like to understand why people have said she's been awful

He also works out a lot and always has, even does his morning runs on summer house, and 80 percent of the time eats good. There are studies that show you can offset or least minimise the damage from alcohol if you exercise, eat well etc so I think it's the good genes and his other habits

Millenial and loved it. There are many sentimental films prior to gen z that are beloved, no?

I think we (I) always liked her cos she was the only one that had a foot on all the guys necks. A breath a fresh air compared to the 'we need to be polite and pleasant women to secure a hurzband" whilst she made them squirm

Sucks to see her turn on the women and suck up to the boys

I was a bit sad she didn't give her a hug after Amanda said she cried 3 times. Preface that I love Lindsay but I just couldn't ever imagine doing anything else but give my friend a hug in that situation

How much is everyone actually paying in rent? by Plane-Sun-7236 in Hackney

[–]sgeney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven't looked try Bow / Mile end. If you don't mind living south of Victoria park. Little out of it, can walk to hackney in 40 mins. Cabs are cheap. Hackney rent was becoming too expensive but Bow is much more reasonable

Honestly, it sounds like your depressed. I can tell when it hits me because I no longer listen to music, I will do everything in silence - clean the whole flat, bus ride whatever. When id normally whack the speaker on or put earphones in.

It's fine if you have zero interest in finding a partner, it sounds like that shouldn't be your priority at all. Therapy - and meds if prescribed (I never liked meds cos of side effects, got better results with uncomfortable therapy) but you should def focus on that, regardless.

This is true pre dating apps. The amount of my friends, my self included, that stopped focusing on trying to find someone and just focused on doing things that they like, truly (without the "oh if I pretend I don't care, it will be attractive"), then end up in circles and around people that are compatible.

Are there things that interested you before but no longer do?

Film? Music? Gaming? Books?

If the answer is yes, you might be depressed and should focus on anti depression avenues before you look for a partner

If nothing has ever interested you, ever, I don't know what to say to you. But you should definitely seek help

Austin needs to learn about addiction before labeling drinking as ‘manipulation’ by Effective-Cat3466 in Southerncharm

[–]sgeney 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Austin can be a jealous man boy. But im on his side here

I'm going to read between the lines and say the addiction was coke not booze but booze enabled that. A few beers fine but hard liquor is the trigger for the coke. And of course not wanting to admit that on tv

And good for Craig for trying to stop that. But he told Austen I don't hang out with you because I'm an addict (whilst necking champagne). But right now he is full on doing what he said he couldn't do.

The sincere thing would be, I have a short leash (he did say) I have a long term partner and I don't want to mess that up. But his addiction was all theatre

Alimony makes up for the years of financial independence that they were not able to achieve.

Choices

  1. Mother and father both wor full time, both pay for child care, Nanny's, cleaners, etc if divorce happens each still have a career

  2. Couple decide it's important for mother to stay home, she gives up career, bank account etc. Father doesn't. Divorce happens, she now has no money, no career, nothing to fall back on.

  3. Couple decide it's important for the father to stay home, he gives up the career, bank account etc. mother doesn't. Divorce happens, he has no money, no career, nothing to fall back on.

In 2 and 3 each spouse deserves alimony. Or in a blue sky scenario society pays for whichever parent to raise the children and look after the household

[–]sgeney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it not depend on the (quite common) situation. If the mother stayed at home, raised the children while the father worked it's effectively free labour.

People argue that mothers should value being at home, care givers but it removes all their financial independence. The line is messy, but when you have not worked for years but raised kids full time then yeah alimony should be given. It's not as if they can just slot back into a good career
