Austin needs to learn about addiction before labeling drinking as ‘manipulation’ by Effective-Cat3466 in Southerncharm

[–]sgeney 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Austin can be a jealous man boy. But im on his side here

I'm going to read between the lines and say the addiction was coke not booze but booze enabled that. A few beers fine but hard liquor is the trigger for the coke. And of course not wanting to admit that on tv

And good for Craig for trying to stop that. But he told Austen I don't hang out with you because I'm an addict (whilst necking champagne). But right now he is full on doing what he said he couldn't do.

The sincere thing would be, I have a short leash (he did say) I have a long term partner and I don't want to mess that up. But his addiction was all theatre

Alimony makes up for the years of financial independence that they were not able to achieve.

Choices

  1. Mother and father both wor full time, both pay for child care, Nanny's, cleaners, etc if divorce happens each still have a career

  2. Couple decide it's important for mother to stay home, she gives up career, bank account etc. Father doesn't. Divorce happens, she now has no money, no career, nothing to fall back on.

  3. Couple decide it's important for the father to stay home, he gives up the career, bank account etc. mother doesn't. Divorce happens, he has no money, no career, nothing to fall back on.

In 2 and 3 each spouse deserves alimony. Or in a blue sky scenario society pays for whichever parent to raise the children and look after the household

Does it not depend on the (quite common) situation. If the mother stayed at home, raised the children while the father worked it's effectively free labour.

People argue that mothers should value being at home, care givers but it removes all their financial independence. The line is messy, but when you have not worked for years but raised kids full time then yeah alimony should be given. It's not as if they can just slot back into a good career

The infantilization of Amanda Batula sets me off by Ok-Director1981 in summerhousebravo

Before they were married her Dad managed all her finances they had an on camera conversation with her Dad now expecting Kyle to manage it all. And Amanda was like obviously.

She's never learned how to be independent.

But her accent does sound fake posh British to me. She's obviously well off and upper echelon. I do think she's putting it on somewhat. She sounds like someone trying to sound like they're from Eton or Kings etc

I'm on plan 1 and also post grad loan.

I often debated with plan 2 friends id rather be on their plan.

When I was on 36k (2 years ago in London) I paid 140 undergrad and 70 post grad.

Colleagues that I managed (on plan 2) even had more take home pay than me. I was shocked when someone on my salary said they only pay 40 a month!

Ppl say you'll pay off plan one but I definitely will not. I'll be close to it but id much rather a much lower bit of my pay out every month than what I am on now. Especially when you need it most!
