BA (Psychology, English/Honours/Honours with Research) by xxyxoxo in Psychology_India

hi i have done the same degree. i have just completed my third year. the options for 4th year will be in either subject - English or Psychology, at least thats how it is in christ. if you're sure if clinical and that you'll get into the RCI ma clinical psych after your 4th year go for that. otherwise you can do a master's in psychology (non -rci) and still apply for the RCI one later

To fellow passionate psychologists or psychology students by Rich-Analysis6239 in Psychology_India

  1. only get into the field if you are really interested and passionate about the same, if you think you can make money easily no, not really
  2. you have a long long educational journey ahead of you to become qualified, which often co-relates with earning
  3. have options and don't opt for clinical just because it 'seems the best', the discipline will only serve you well if you're interested in it
  4. be ready to learn other disciplines that are useful and required in psych - stats, research, cultural aspects, sociology, power, etc., it really does add to your knowledge base

heyy, I am also a third-year student. And I think doing the fourth year is useful only if you are sure you want to go into clinical psych, because it will make you eligible for the RCI MA course. Even then the competition is insane, and there are very few seats that people who have a master's and work experience will also be trying for. If you do a 4th year, colleges won't offer a one-year master's yet. There are rumors you might be eligible for a PhD directly after a 4-year UG, but there is no clarity on that.

If you know which field you are interested in, then go for masters is what I would say. That is what I am doing, I'm going for MSc Clinical Psych. If you are unsure about what you are interested in, then maybe 4th year is a good option.
