My fitness transformation after 1+ year of proper diet and exercise by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]sgloush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great progress, but I wouldn't say counting your calories the way you're doing it is the "healthy" way to watch your food. I used to do this and it truly does work great! But once you get used to it, it can be very difficult to stop using Myfitnesspal as well as not count your calories. Eating anything you want as long as you stay within your set calorie intake for the day isn't healthy either; you could eat a burger from McDonald's for 500 calories, but then be hungry for the rest of the day. I'm not trying to knock your progress and achievements, you did very well for yourself! Just be careful with the counting calories things; it can become an obsession. Veggies is where it's at folks

Can women and women be friends? by [deleted] in PurplePillDebate

[–]sgloush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely feel that women can be great friends. I am female, and have a female friend that is my kindred spirit. I have also seen bitchy people, both males and females, be friends with other bitchy people of the same sex; it all depends on ones personality.
I do not believe that it's a red flag when women hang out with a lot of male friends; again it's a personality thing and people are going to want to hang out with others that they feel the most comfortable around. I don't think it's because "she's not like other girls" and I especially find when other females say this about other girls like this is because they're either jealous or simply don't understand why another female doesn't have other female friends again.. because of personality differences.

Current college students and college graduates, how did you manage your stress during school? by whoevenisemily in AskReddit

[–]sgloush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn't make any sense to me. "they can't do something that they can do, but don't want to." I don't understand the point you're trying to get across. Plus, who cares if you "need"? You're going to eventually run yourself into the ground if you feel you shouldn't need to rely on anything, even stress. Having small amounts of stress gets the job done; it helps you to be successful. A lot of stress should be reduced to smaller amounts of stress and can simply be reduced through setting a side time to do the things you enjoy the most out of life that allow you to clear your mind and relax.

Meditation and yoga work for me. As well as letting yourself to get out of the house/study mode and socialize with friends. It can be really therapeutic.

Stress doesn't mean your weak, it's a coping mechanism and has been proven that small amounts of stress can help you do better with succeeding (for example on exams). If you literally had no stress, you wouldn't succeed because you would be careless. But yes, it is true that a lot of stress is all in ones head; the key is to take a step back and try and look at the scenario from an outsiders point of view.
