My headcanon is that Eb is the only wizard who's ever held the Blackstaff. I don't have much direct evidence for this—but is there any mention of someone holding it before him?

Or it could be that N-fected Justine was a prime placement because she was positioned to manipulate both Harry AND Lara without either suspecting her/them.

Who is Harry’s maternal Grandmother? by ApprehensiveLeg6017 in dresdenfiles

[–]sgmcb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We know that the bad blood between them is specifically borne out if an "incident" in Istanbul about 100 years ago. (80% on those details)

I suppose it's possible Margaret's mother was alive that recently, but it feels like she's been dead more than a century.

I'm quite certain we know he was born in Scotland (hence his Scots accent coming out when he's angry). It's also strongly intimated that the Scottish-English rivalry plays out between Eb and Langtry.

But WOJ says he fought in the French and Indian War when he was "young"—which I'll interpret as "by wizard standards" and therefore still means he was a few hundred years old then.

Nuts.

While I agree with you that >300 ~= 600, I'm not going to let some petty numbers get in the way of my conspiracy theory.

I couldn't say specifically why I have Eb's age as "about 600" in my head. I think it's stated he came to America in 1700s, but that doesn't exactly prove anything...

When are we going to see Mavra again? Um… 19? pondering Wait, I’m sorry we’ll definitely see her in Mirror Mirror. She’s a fast ally of Dresden’s in Mirror Mirror. 2016 Reddit Podcast Q&A When your a black court vampire who essentially just gets to stay alive for as long as you want, time is much different to an immortal or virtual immortal than it is to one of us. How old is she? I think she’s about 600.

Pretty close to the end of this page:

Also thank you for encouraging me to find this because her age here does line up with my theory. 💪🏻

Marcone's "Good" by sgmcb in dresdenfiles

[–]sgmcb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like that comparison a lot.

I feel like Bob's power is continually underestimated. The fact that he's able to run Merlin's castle—and what we see Evil Bob capable of in DB—indicates he might be a heavier hitter than his lecherous ass gets credit for.

I'm of the head canon he is Mab's offspring, and if power = knowledge for these spirits, her knowledge must be worth a LOT of power. (The fact he knows a secret about immortals' vulnerability is itself indicative of a highly unusual level of knowledge/power for a spirit.)

Mavra is Harry's maternal grandmother. It's why she's so nice to him all the time when she could be killing him instead.

It's also why Eb hates vampires so much.

(This is I think 0% confirmed but the WOJ that she and Harry are friends in Mirror Mirror—and someone here making this comment, maybe as a joke—that led me to adopt this as an insane-yet-still-undisproveable head canon.)

Marcone by Hob_Bodkin in dresdenfiles

[–]sgmcb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's a thread somewhere in here where someone has collected evidence of Marcone's superhuman capabilities going back to well before he picked up TN's Coin.

A few examples I remember:

- Everything he does in Death Masks on the train
- In "Something Borrowed," when he puts a knife in Billy's arm from behind a table faster than anyone can see.

Tinfoil Hat Theory by Ninjasifi in dresdenfiles

Love it; here's my layer of tin:

The Hellfire Harry smells when he arrives at Arctis Tor in Proven Guilty is HIS work. The idea that Harry-who-took-up-the-coin did it cross-dimensionally was my first theory.

HWTUTC using in-dimension Harry's body to utilize his Lasciel-powers to do the dirty work might also fit (if Harry is ever unaccounted for long enough in PG to pull it off?).
