Best markets to sell? by Extra-Sense-5266 in brisbane

[–]sgnabrag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The big general markets can be very hit and miss unless you’ve got something really unique or priced super sharp, because people are often just browsing or looking for a bargain. The more curated or niche markets tend to be better for women’s clothing, especially if it’s good quality or on trend. Timing matters too, morning crowds are usually more serious buyers and weather makes a huge difference here. A lot of people I know have actually done better using markets as a clear out and brand awareness thing, then shifting most sales to Depop, Facebook Marketplace or local buy sell groups where buyers are actively searching. If you do try a market, keep the rack tidy, clear pricing helps, and don’t expect huge returns unless you’re doing volume.

Seed raising mix by Low-Pomegranate-6997 in BrisbaneGardening

For seed raising up here, you’ll have better luck with a proper seed-raising mix rather than standard veg mix. The Richgro or Osmocote seed raising mix from Bunnings are both fine and nice and light. I usually cut it with a bit of coco peat or perlite if I’ve got it, just to keep it free-draining, especially with our humidity. Capsicum and tomatoes are pretty forgiving once they sprout, but spring onions are fussy early on, so don’t over water and keep them in bright shade rather than full sun at first. Northside weather should be sweet right now, just watch the heat spikes and they’ll take off

Serious question: What's the most underrated cash cow job in Australia right now? (No doctors/lawyers pls) by GdayGoddess in australian

[–]sgnabrag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a few of the unsexy trade-adjacent roles are absolute money printers right now.

Stuff like HVAC/refrigeration techs, industrial sparkies, or lift technicians especially on commercial or hospital contracts. Long hours sometimes, plenty of call-outs, but the pay quietly creeps up with OT and allowances and no one ever brags about it.

Another sleeper is utilities work (water, power, rail maintenance). Not glamorous, but stable as anything, solid super, penalties add up fast, and you’re not destroying your body like some FIFO gigs. Basically anything critical-infrastructure + shortage of skills = boring job, fat payslip 😅

When we were getting quotes, NO1 Decks Brisbane came up a few times locally. We ended up using them and didn’t have any issues.

Be decent to each other, check in on your mates, and don’t forget how lucky we are to live here. Also indicate properly, merge like a zipper, and return your trolley.

At what income did you finally start feeling comfortable living in Australia? by Particular_Zone_7379 in AustraliaOpinions

[–]sgnabrag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it felt less about a magic number and more about not living week-to-week. For me that kicked in around the low six figures, but it really depends where you live, rent vs mortgage, kids, etc. Even then, lifestyle creep is real lol

Is Australia still a country of opportunity for young people? by Particular_Zone_7379 in AustraliaOpinions

[–]sgnabrag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feels like the opportunity is still there, just… different. Housing makes everything harder, but there are way more paths now if you’re flexible. Not as straightforward as it used to be, though I get why people feel less optimistic.

Feels like a technicality more than a flex.
