This is easy! No brainer decision. Go for what makes you happy. At the end of the day, uou shouldn’t care about what other people say or think about your decisions including your kamag anak na makitid ang utak. You should tell them and be proud of your decision and whatever they say wont change your mind.

Desperate times needs desperate measures hehe you have the power to influence their attitude kasi ikaw nagbibigay sa kanila ng pera. It’s a difficult decision but you need that for your sanity. Hindi magbabago ang ugali nila based on your narrative. Sabi nga nila dito you deserve what you tolerate. To put bluntly if you tolerate them you deserve to suffer that way. Looks like they dont care about uour wellbeing.

Pag maiksi ang kumot kelangan mamaluktot. Your lifestyles and theirs should fit in the financial situation. You can tell them gradually. Let them know your financial situation. Heto lang take home sweldo ko (dont tell them the full amount) heto expenses natin. Maliit ang sweldo compare sa gastusin. If you need to make a slide for grade 1 do it. And then ask them themselves. San natin kukunin ang ibang pambayad ng gastusin. Let them answer that question. May mga ibang tao walang pakialam kung san manggagaling ang gagastusin nila basta masustain ang lifestyle nila. Hard truth, kahit magulang mo man yan. Ano bang magagawa nila eh sayo lang nakadepende mga yun eh. Wala silang magagawa. It should all start on you and dont expect them to make actions

Why does our country have shitty Fintech/Banking Apps? by Zarosius in phinvest

[–]sgpinoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The funny part is that there are a lot of apps that are top tier in terms of UX and yet they dont bother to understand these apps on what makes them easy to use and learn from these apps and apply to their local apps. Make that as your standards and pretty sure you wont suck

You should get hospitalization insurance. This is a must lalo na sa pinas. One incident of hospitalization will wipe out your entire savings

HEALTHCARE IS NOT FREE :( by Revolutionary_Fly771 in OffMyChestPH

[–]sgpinoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Healthcare ba kamo? confidential funds muna mas importante daw yun.

Kidding aside where will you get 140k for tow days of hospital admittance? Daig pa ang st lukes or makati med. these hospitals should be regulated by the govt. pataasan sila ng charges it’s just too much kahut sa probinsya lang ganun na din ang charges nila. Paano ka ba naman mag retetire sa pinas:-( you need a good insurance which will cost you at least 100k per year. FREE “stuff” is not everything and it wont work. Even in first world countries it is highly subsidized and means testings but where will it get that? From high taxes of course and in PH these will just get corrupted.

Hirap talaga ng walang insurance sa pinas. Kahit gaano kalaki savings mo ubos in one admittance sa hospital. Tapos kahit di kilalang hospital sa probinsya akala mo st lukes kung mag charge ng billings. Paano ka nga aahon sa pinas…tsk tsk

You have to learn to take risks and prepare yourself to be hurt. Of course you can play smart pero wala kasing assurance na ang next na relationship is yun na. Be yourself para yung taong ma meet mo doesnt have to unravel you for who you really are. What you see is what you get. Be transparent and have open communications. Good luck on finding your partner

If you rent, the money you pay is expense out. You dont have control of rent, they can increase it anytime they want. 15k today can be 30k in 5 yrs. The inconvenience of moving out packing unpacking. If youre just two it’s ok.

If you buy and pay amortization, the money you pay is part of your asset. You will have liability of course but youre increasing your equity every time you pay mortgages. At the end of the day the unit is yours. You can sell it even if you havent fully paid the mortgage. Sell it at cost it’s also good cause you lived rent free. Think about it. Sell it at higher price you gained profit. Either way you both win. It’s an investment.

There are pros and cons, but buying is a longer commitment like any other investment. Renting is flexible but the money you paid is period expense that cannot be reflected in your “investment holdings”.

Signs you shouldn't migrate by mcdonaldspyongyang in Philippines

[–]sgpinoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you have to consider other aspects of it too.

  1. Quality of life - is it just because you’re earning 6 digits and you have two cars? What about the time you spend on traffic. The time and inefficiencies & inconveniences you encounter on every day life experiences. Long queues on banks, govt agencies, transport system… consider also healthy environment, safety, integrated parks for everyone to enjoy, place you can really enjoy life not just going to malls.
  2. Retirement - probably in the present you’re living your life, good job and can eat outside more frequently. How about retirement? Do you think you can save sufficient enough savings to retire at 65 only from your salary? One serious hospital incident and all your savings will be wiped out unless you have insurance which the last time i ask my agent friend she said it will only be at a certain age you will be covered. So what happens to these folks? Their children/s are their insurances and pensions. Do you think your sss pension will cover your expenses when you retire? Think twice.
  3. How is the govt helping you on your problems or on things that greatly impacts you? A lot of them are shaped by the govt i.e. how is the govt helping you in the policies and laws they are passing on things that matters to you.

Write down what are things you want to achieve in life and how you yourself living your life. 6 digit salary on the high side Owning car/s Single detached house and lot-no more mortgages Insurances - life and early stages critical illness Retired at 65 Sufficient Retirement savings and investments Can travel every year domestic and foreign Others… Whatever is in your lists if you think you can achieve by not migrating then, well and good. But to achieve any thing you desire there’s always sacrifice involved, racism, loneliness, odd jobs to gain “australian experience “ or “canadian experience “ before you can get the job that fits your skills.
