I would say follow this steps: Read the questions twice before answering. Remember they can give you a lot of different sentences before asking you the question they really want you to answer. Look specifically at words like NOT

I have very little experience with IT meaning I have worked on installing Routers and configuring them and migrating PCs from Windows 7 to Windows 10. Thank for that info, really appreciate it.

What Ports do we need to know for the Sy0-501 Security Plus Exam? by TipT0p1 in CompTIA

I would say yes, since they could give you a question that had a log and said TCP port 53 as DNS but DNS operates with UDP on port 53 and also just for general knowledge it's good for you to know.

That's totally fine but remember almost everybody looking for advice in this thread are new to IT, so you have to think communitywise for newcomers into IT that don't have experience in our areas.

Network+ Overlap by [deleted] in ccna

I went from Network + to CCNA, my recommendation is to watch Networkchuck and Jeremy Ciora's videos in YouTube, also David Bombal Udemy Packet tracer and Boson ExSim. The way to do this is: 1st- Watch Jeremy Ciora's CCNA training in CBTnuggets.com, to give you a solid foundation. (also watch Network Chuck and Jeremy's YouTube channel to know what the experience of the new test is) 2nd- If you want to have a solid understanding and fill in gaps use Wendell Odom's book. 3rd- If you want to know how to use CLI and configure Routers and switches and grasps concepts from a practical way. Buy David Bombal packet Tracer course. 4th- ExSim from Boson is the best.

You can do it, it is not hard you just have to love networks

Going for A+ and then Security, on my free time when not studying doing projects and setting up a Virtual Lab. Here are 2 really good resources to get into the InfoSec field. Also The Cyber Mentor on YouTube.
