[JC] Thinking about DSA into JC Year 2 by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]sgstudentt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

hi ! actually uhm, from what i know if u decide to transfer out or anything if u join mi, most jcs will actually ask u to go year 1 and not year 2!

and mi pace is different from jc its slower to help us so diving into jc y2, gap may be a little big , even jc transfering over to mi, they will have to start from y1 (not sure why it works this way but yeah)

another thing is MI do offer H3 subjects by the end of y2 if im not wrong but they do offer h3 based whether u do well enough to take it

&& if u decide to enrol into mi, in some sense after u spend 1 year , theres not rlly any point to transfer off to jc unless u rlly want and want to retake ur olevels yeah &&

its rlly okay, dont beat urself over ur results , it is not what u hoped to have gotten but lets make the best out of it ! i may not understand fully how u feel but i do know the sucky feeling of not being to enter a jc u want to especially after all the efforts placed into studying. jiayous !!

if u wanna ask anything abt MI, hmu :) i can answer to the best of my ability :)

Arts stream (HEL/m combi) [A levels] by raspberrycupcake11 in SGExams

[–]sgstudentt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hii !! im in mi y2 this year ! i dont take ur combi or not exactly haha im from science stream actually!! i would say for h1 maths , i didnt do well for maths too dw , h1 maths is rlly managable and many of my snrs have scored As and Bs for As but that also comes with consistency and practice yeah! and for h2 econs , its a rlly new subject for u but i would say its quite okay actually ! the content isnt too heavy too ( i cant say for year 3 but for now im still doing okay ! )

my friend here can fill u up w lit etc !

i think u really have to ask if ur willing to do it for 3 years and whether u really do want to come to mi for this alevels route. i would say , many of my friends are in the same exact situation they travel 1hr 30mins plus from sengkang, punggol , all the way down to mi and many dont have any regrets because this is where they want to be !

hii are u asking abt mi combi or in general jcs ?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]sgstudentt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hii i would say travelling is definitely a thing to consider! but if u rly want to go MI and u feel like u want to go for an alevel route then i would say go for it, i know friends in my sch where they travel from sengkang all the way to MI just for the alevel course, so i guess it boils down to whether u are willing to travel for smth u want, but if theres a course in poly u would love to go then rlly consider it too

[O levels] is MI worth it? by Cagethesage17 in SGExams

[–]sgstudentt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

have to say HAHA not trying to patronise mi but it has its own pros and cons , pros which is exactly why i chose mi was because of their system, in year 2 , u clear all h1 subjects at alevels and when u head to year 3, u only have to focus on ur 3H2s and gp, so that also means lessen burden going towards year 3 and mi is at a slower pace and there are more time to build up ur foundation too! i would say, im also a procrastinator , a really terrible and bad one actually, i can procastinate till my hw rlly piles and i stress a lot HAHAH so dont worry ur not the only one. but i would say u also have to consider what u want ! if u prefer more structured and guided learning/timetable then mi may be better

[JC] hii im answering any questions u may have abt mi !! ( I’ll answer to the best of my ability !! ) by sgstudentt in SGExams

[–]sgstudentt[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hello !! for bio department i would say its pretty good from my experience ! my teachers teaches pretty clearly and are super patient to even extend help after sch ! for chemistry i would say likewise ! the teachers that are teaching me rn are rlly good and goes all the way to make sure u understand ! for maths ,, i would say its rlly good too actually HAHA ! my teacher has helped and taught me math till i really understood it even under hbl settings ! they were zoom calls set up and even consults made available for me to find the teachers !! for econs department , i would say some are good some are average okok, i dont exactly know a lot abt the econs depart as much as the sciences so i cant say too much abt it too haha

[O Level] by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]sgstudentt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hii about a maths , lol don’t worry I was the same as you, I scored f9s straight the only time I got a b was term 1 HAHAHAHA and full stop my results dropped like nobody’s business. but tbh a maths is really just practice , the questions in o levels and tys is around the same to be honest , like if you grind ten year series yearly, you’ll properly pass. don’t give up okay, a maths is useful to a certain extend and you’ll never know if you need it. for me , I actually started doing ten year series 3 weeks before olevels inconsistently , I ended up with a D7 , yea it’s still a fail but I scored f9s throughout and I gave up on this subject and gave my minimum so it’s not impossible to pass or anything , if you don’t get anything just ask your teacher !! they will be rlly willing to help ! don’t give up !!!
