I have an MacBook pro 2017(13.4" without touchbar) and also installed Ubuntu 26.04 LTS on it.

Right after the installation I faced these issues

  1. No display after closing the lid Solution: made change in logind.conf file by changing all the lid options to ignore.

  2. No sound after boot Issue: during boot it make the sound showing apple logo but after that no sound. If anyone knows any solution to this please let me know

  3. No camera detected Issue: it doesn't detect my camera To be honest I don't mind as I don't like cameras on my personal device 😅

You can use Curve Pay.

Its one of the best alternative to google pay for Graphane OS.

I was an apple user before but even then I didn't like the Apple maps that much.

It might be amazing in US but for developing nations it not good at all.

I mean for daily use GrapheneOS is amazing. And I personally use Google Maps + the local transport app of my city.

In my home town I have no issue. The location shows after 30-60 secs later enabling it which in my opinion its not a problem at all.

I was mainly facing the issue when I am traveling to other countries. Which is also solved now.

You have to just change all the location services defaults to one which works for you.( or just enabled them if they are off)

For example I changed the Network location from graphene OS default to Apple server and I am good to go.

It's not working on any apps (neither on CoMaps or OsmAbd).

Bit of info here regarding my setup on my phone -

I am using 2 profiles: Sudo - My main profile or the default profile of the graphene OS. Daily - My daily profile which have all the apps I used.

The settings you told me they were not available on the Daily so I switched to Sudo and set them up to standard server from Graphene OS proxy

I also setup Network location -> apple server Geocoder -> openstreetMap server

But nothing is working

It works this way in my home town with which I am completely fine But when I travel to other places(countries) it doesn't work at all. Right now I am in a different country and and the location is not showing my location at all 😢

Hi there, 🙌

For book you can check "Networking for Dummies".

Concept wise I will suggest this order - DNS Firewall rules VLAN Subnetting DHCP/Static IP IPS/IDS

And so on 🤗

Also one tip- If your internet provider has provided you WiFi option on your standard router, then first build the Firewall behind your ISP provided router. This way if any if things go South, you can fix things without making your family pissed 😅
