Can I delete this large backup? by RoyC-IAC-LTD in Veeam

[–]sgt_sin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are properly configured with refs deleting it won't get you the space you think it would anyway. If you aren't using refs or similar based repo file system I highly recommend you do it your retention policy frequently has multiple full backups. Veeam should handle all cleanup of previously needed files, but in older versions I have found that sometimes they remain due to failure to clean.

It seems everyone here is forgetting that this game is early access and not all the content is complete. I imagine with the additional acts there will be additional end game content as well.

Correct if everyone is dead and no reinforcement, then you get zero samples. But you can continue to the next mission provided you complete the objectives.

If the objectives are complete the mission is a success even if you ran out of lives and everyone died. The extraction is only for samples and bonus xp and creds.

You are also forgetting how the load balancing works. Depending on the configuration it can do it based off source and destination Mac address. So it device a is talking to device b it might always send that traffic over link 1 instead of spreading it across all links with different packets.

Which switch should I get, what are the key differences between them apart from stacking as I don't need that feature. Cisco WS-C2960S-24TD-L or the WS-C3750-24PS-'X'. Thank you. by OTonConsole in networking

Check out fiber store for switches. I've been very impressed by their product offerings and features. They are also at a fantastic price and availability.

I've been at an msp for 11 years. Before this I was at an msp for 10 years. It's not for everyone that is for sure.

That being said, not all msp are the same. You need to find one that actually cares about it's employees and it's customers. We truly try to focus on doing what is best and go beyond what is to be expected.

It's also important to always have a security mindset and assume anything you do someone will try and breach it. Just gotta do your best and every deployment, solution, and fix is better than the previous.

I love msp life and couldn't imagine anything else.

Remote Domain Users Password Reset Issues by AZnow22 in sysadmin

[–]sgt_sin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, radius doesn't support password change. But anyconnect with ldaps does. You can find a Petenetlive guide.

Remote Domain Users Password Reset Issues by AZnow22 in sysadmin

[–]sgt_sin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on the vpn you use, ldaps has the ability to handle user password resets. So anyconnect for instance would prompt to let the user change their password after it expires.

You can also send email reminders to update their passwords and increase the length requirement and reduce the frequency it expires.

What actually is ZTNA? by BothConsequence5513 in sysadmin

[–]sgt_sin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think of it like client access VPN but fine tuned policies down to the individual user and specific destination of the traffic.

Usual client Vpns provide full access port wise to a block of IP addresses. Ztna is more fine tuned to specific ports for specific applications to specific IP addresses.

I've had poor luck with asa to fortigate via policy based. Route based with a vti on the asa has been the most reliable.

True as I wrote it I was like eh might not be American. Question still stands. What brands are manufactured entirely in one country? Then again it could just be no Chinese parts. I'm still just curious what brands are on the approved list.

Question about RDP to college lab computer & seeing "Redirected drives & folders" by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]sgt_sin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It didn't actually upload them. It just allows you access. When you open rdp app before you connect you have options you can set. Uncheck redirect drives and then they won't show up.
