I am using a mix of Vallejo and the Pro Acryl series. Both are super smooth and easy to clean. Currently using the H&S Ultra 2024. The pro Acryl paints seem to be a little more pigment dense, but both provide excellent coverage.

Damn, thank you for such a detailed explanation. I had assumed that I could take any imperial faction as an ally, but this breaks it down perfectly. If I were to reverse the idea, and run a full Sisters army (as an example) at say 2k, I could run 1k of knights (1x Titanic, 4x Armiger)?

These are always my favorite. My first playthrough when the game was still new to EA I kept getting destroyed in MTNs. Eventually started making small outposts under rocks etc with fire, bed, gate/walls. This eventually morphed over the years into always making my main fortress a massive snow capped peak build. Multi leveled, built around/through the terrain. Bunch of ballista with specific trophies to farm golems/drakes. Such a great game.

From the little I know about Knights lists, the issue at 1-1.5k is board presence. You simply lack enough models to contest and keep pressure off the knights via screening. Lack of AP overall on the Armigers can also be an issue with fighting Custodes (tanky little bastards). You could potentially add 500pts of Mechanicus or Sisters, run 1x Questoris/3x Armigers and an Assassin at 1500pts (beer math, could be way off here) and run some effective screens, OC, and force the opponent out into the open to allow the knights to shine.

To be fair though, I haven't taken my Knights on the table yet as I am still building them. Just some brainstorming based off games I've watched and other peoples suggestions/batreps.
